What I believe is we play that side we will be bottom 4
Not sure Scott will play Kako until late in the season.
Not sure he will have a job late in the season

Wright played 16 games for 19 goals barely leaving the 50.
Draper played 16 games for 11 not playing as a forward much until the back end.
There isn’t much between them in my eyes. One at least competes and draws frees, the other closes his eyes and falls over.
Either way we will be a bottom half team, and hopefully neither are in the team for much longer
I like it - Prior is the one I don’t have in currently but reckon he’ll end up there by the end of the pre-season.
You’ve missed Guelfi but assume you’d have him in the VFL side somewhere anyway
updated Guelfi to sub, Shiel to gameday emergency.
I dont really mind if Guelfi in VFL.
Prior hard to know where he fits, definitely a spot there for the taking in defence / 7th defender. Unless we decide to keep using Martin back there.
Jones I’m not sold on yet, hope he performs well in the practice matches
If he doesn’t change his ways, you may be right.
I see Wright’s poor form as a symptom of our dysfunctional forward line and abysmal F50 entry conversion, not the cause.
Ensuring we have quality kicks delivering the ball inside 50 will go a long way to improving Wright’s goal output.
He often has his arms up with his eyes closed, and is out bodied by smaller players.
Long and Mercs couldn’t work with that.
Shanahan looked better when I watched the GC VFL game in person, 2MP had one outlier year and is a limp fraud the others.
Would also be useful IF he could catch the ball!
I appear to have hit the age where draftees look like children. Damn.
Probably the first year I’ve looked at our draftees and thought they looked like 12 year olds.
Who are they, your kids?
Confidence is a ■■■■■
Kako, Nguyen and Gerreyn I can make out.
The others, plus Jaxon Prior, they all look like one of the others.
The Bombers took a draft focus into the off-season and top pick Isaac Kako should lock in a forward line spot immediately. They have given Nate Caddy the reins of the forward line with Jake Stringer traded to Greater Western Sydney and that will also mean more inside-50 time for Archie Perkins, who the Bombers hope can help fill that goalkicking role. How Essendon shapes its wings will be interesting – Xavier Duursma is a lock but they have trialled Harrison Jones and Nik Cox there, plus last year’s mid-season recruit Saad El-Hawli is a real chance to grab the other wing position. Watch for him to make an early season debut. Plenty of hopes are pinned on Zach Reid being fit and available and he would make a difference to their backline, while what the Bombers do across half-back will also be decided in coming months. Does Nic Martin stay there as an attacker? Can Dylan Shiel add some experience there? Will recruit Jaxon Prior break in and make a spot his own with his penetrating kicking? Whether the Bombers also play Todd Goldstein again alongside Sam Draper will be a point of discussion early in 2025. - Callum Twomey

I currently have the same side but with Martin replacing Jones on a wing & El-Hawli coming into the side at HB.

Not sure if they’ll stick with 3 small forwards (Kako/Gresham/Guelfi) or go with another versatile tall (Jones/Cox) or another defender (Prior) instead, with El-Hawli then pushing up to a wing/HF role with Martin.
Jones, Bryan, Prior & Cox would be next in line for games, with Shiel, Lav, Setterfield & Goldy as reliable depth, Davey/Menzie hopefully putting pressure on the small forwards & a pre-season battle of Wright vs Bryan to see who’ll be supporting Draper in the ruck.
