I think your close maybe the only change for me would be prior in Hobbs out and guelfi to sub

Lots of people picking Prior and he may well play early rounds but at this stage I’m backing in young Roberts. Others can rotate through half back - Martin, SEH, Guelfi - we might even see Merrett/Shiel spend time there…Team;-

I just can’t do Jones on a wing over Duursma. Duursma is a well rounded footballer, Jones is an athlete and flyer for marks.
Otherwise it’s a decent team

As much as it will ■■■■ me off to no end, he has been training damn well.
The worst part is he will play 15-20 games this year and just miss F/S requirements. After missing games this season while playing good footy, which I myself was calling to move past him.
I guess we really can’t have our cake and eat it to
■■■■ me I hope not. If we limp into another finals series on the back of guys like Shiel playing games only to get smashed, we might as well just put us all out of our misery, burn the club down and relocate to the NT.

Hey, I’m in agreeance. I was all for the saints taking him in the 2023 trade period!
But Brad has shown a reluctance to go full rebuild, and we are bound to see Dylan and Goldie wheeled out at aome point
Shiel is the least of our problems and can still contribute and play high quality football as he proved late this year
I’m more concerned with guys like Perkins, Cox, Davey, Tsatas & Hobbs
These are the guys that are meant to be taking us forward as a club and cementing themselves in the 23 rather than getting games in potential…We need to see a lift from these sorts of players

Some point I can deal with but playing more than a combined 10 games is counter productive to what should be our long term goal of a premiership within 5 years.

Granted those mentioned among others have to earn their spot but belief and confidence go hand in hand with performance and if guys like Shiel are getting regular games over kids then we’re never going to improve.

This guy had serious goal kicking yips in the second half of the season. Had shots from goal from 40 meters or so that didn’t make the distance. Like everyone else, completely lost his 5h1t in the second half of the season.
Didn’t he have the chance to win us anzac day match too and missed.
I guess you could replace either Cox or Jones with Perkins or Tsatas but all of them are kind of on the fringe really - it would be fantastic if one or two of those 4 players really breaks out/matures in 2025 and becomes a lock in the 23

I don’t think Brad Scott has given away too many games to players on just potential though.
Davey probably got a few this year because we were out of options ditto Menzie.
It’s no surprise we targeted Kako(we may have even if he wasn’t our academy kid imho. Such a big need).
Tsatsas, Hobbs have been made to work for it in the twos. Both players I think had reports in the footy media of rival club interest.
The list definetly could be better. And given the investment in list management, trade tactics it does look like the objective is rebuilding.
