you monster

If he plays that team he won’t have a job by round 18

It’s probably better than a few of the teams he rolled out this year

Parish wouldn’t be very happy playing ressies.

Kyle copped a decent knock on the hip back in R12 vs Suns I recall … he was sore for a good while thereafter. And carried a cartilage tear a fair bit of the season too. Both these I reckon wouldn’t have helped his normally reliable set shot execution.

If he’s strong and healthy, and can trust his body again, his excellent goalkicking technique will blow away any yips this next season.

40-50 goals easy for this Rolls Royce old fashioned full forward for mine in 2025.

4 smalls in the forward 6… you are clearly not reading the room regarding Brad Scott’s historical team selection.

Super interested to see how SEH is used. HBF wing or HFF.
HBF to replace Martin’s role, and push him to the wing.
And what Prior is able to do for us.

FB McGrath McKay Ridley
HB Redman Reid Prior
C Duursma Merrett Martin
R Bryan Caldwell Durham
HF El-Hawli Caddy Gresham
FF Kako Draper Langford

INT Roberts Jones Parish Tsatas Guelfi
EMG Perkins Cox Hobbs Hayes

Or perhaps Prior to replace Martin’s role, and one of SEH and Martin on the wing and the other forward.

HF Guelfi Caddy Gresham

Either of these options should make us more potent in the front half.

And if Prior isn’t good enough as a distributor out of the back half, I’d use Merrett there and go all in on Tsatas in the guts.

The biggest change for next year is no Kelly and no Dys. Keen to see where that takes us. We also need to move on from Davey being used, especially as sub. He offers no impact. Need to more on from Goldy, Lav & Menzie
Let’s see what Kako, Lual, Hayes, Bryan, SEH, Tsatas & the newbies have got. Need to find at least 3 from these.

Agree with this.
Roberts and Prior only played 4 games each last year - they are solid enough replacements for Kelly & Heppell - we also have SEH yet to debut but appears capable off half back & we could even see Shiel or Merrett spend time there.
I dont think we will see much Goldy or Menzie - maybe as break glass options if we are decimated by injury. Lav will play games and still has a bit to offer I reckon - Davey an interesting one for me he certainly hasn’t come on as expected and unless we see a significant improvement he may end up being cut like his brother at the end of 2025

No, I’m spot in with Stringer being replaced by Perkins. Virtually like for like in terms of size

Davey is a decent sub option. I wouldn’t rule him out.
Has pace, in past struggled to run out games so less game time as sub helps.
he adds defensive pressure in forwardline.
with Kako and Davey both chasing defenders it will make them more nervous and cause turnovers.
win record generally pretty good with Davey, with his perceived pressure.
He looks stronger this preseason, but yeh expectr Kako to go straight past him into the side, and he will need to work for it and maybe come in as sub etc.

Davey is just nowhere near assertive enough in the contest. People here used to lose there minds over how soft houli was, Davey makes him look like Michael voss by comparison. Davey needs to fix that before anything else.

and they were wrong.

that is true, and thought as much at the time.

i don’t think their wrong about Davey though, he needs to fix it to be worth a spot in the team

McGrath McKay Ridley
Redman Reid Roberts
Duursma Merrett Saad
Jones Caddy Martin
Kacko Langford Gresham

Draper Durham
Caldwell

Shiel Parish Cox Perkins

Sub: Guelfi

If Reid doesn’t make it replace with Hayes

Move past Laverde.

If Draper doesn’t improve swap with Bryan

Make Tsatas force his way past Shiel or Parish.

I am assuming Kacko will prove himself better than Davey in the pre season but that might be wrong. He might need time. Even the Wizard took half a season to cement himself. But we need to move to a speedier, better tacking forward line.

Wright has shown to be a flat track bully. Make him prove that isn’t true before playing him. Don’t gift him games.

Go Bombers!!!

Who’s your rotating ruck?

Give Draper 70% on ball. Share the remaining 30% between Cox and Jones.

I’m not a fan of 2 ruckman unless they are both super stars or if one of them is a genuine forward.
Even Freo with Darcy and Jackson are struggling to make that work. Gawn and Grundy also was not great.

I’d play tsatas over Shiel but I think the only real flaw with your side is lack of a back up ruck. For mine our side needs to have either Bryan or wright in the forward line. Otherwise we will get killed having cox or jones as a relief ruck which are your only real options.

Langford also not as good against a big body. 2MP does do a job that Jones and Cox cannot.

If Wright was 10% better I’d agree but as I see it he lets us down in big games. Not sure if that can ever change and we need to build a team that can win finals.

I think we need to change the way we move the ball into the forward line.

Look at Geelong who use Cameron as a running player plus have Stengle, Miers and Close as smalls, Henry as a medium and Neal as the only big. But they deliver the ball into the forward line with a series of 20 to 25 metre kicks and changing the angles.

Hawthorn play Ginnivan, Watson, Moore and Breust forward. Heaps of run and smarts.

Only problem is Geelong have the unicorn in Blicavs.

Cox or Jones are useless as a backup ruck.

Cox shouldn’t be anywhere near our best 23 unless he can hold down a key position.

Draper is barely able to hold down first ruck in a duo set-up let alone one out.
