Checks out! Not surprised!
When you see who had to tick it off you will understand why Port already had a handshake agreement mid year
sausageroll:
Iâm handypoint or sausage roll.
getting too many notifications matchday for handy points.
Well whilst we are getting to know sausage roll, please tell me, is it a long way to the shops for you?
Not for him, but is is for those who want him.

OK, whatâs the story here?
Dougie seems like an absolute rort. Allowed to go onto NGA just before their top year when they are a likely top pick. Not like they have had anything to do with his development
Meanwhile, the AFL will try to find a way to shaft us on Bewick.
Yep. Watch the price to match a bid on him go through the roofâŠ
Fair hanger in the VFL but.
His career failed because of things off field. He was seing one of my best friends at the time and things went pear shaped which essentially ended his career
Pauly Vanderbergh who works for the AFL now just happened to work for Port for 10 years and set up their indigenous academy.
Port were âpromisedâ 6 months ago that this would go through
Thanks. Itâs too bad our âAFL plantâ was nowhere near as effective.
Would have gone through regardless, trying to make a mountain from a molehill.
This time next week, we will know who we drafted. Excited but scared at the same time.
Absolutely not, itâs a very dubious decision and not because of his indigenous links
As always with the AFL, itâs a â â â â â â â ludicrous decision at odds with their supposed desire to make the draft less compromised.
My thoughts on the matter havenât changed:
NGA system is completely broken imo. Great that Dougie Cochrane will receive the pathway benefits despite a multitude of things holding him back, like a father who spent a decade as a professional footballer and attending a football school that has produced prospects such as Isak Rankine, Jack Lukosius & Mattaes Philipou.
What irks me is the obvious rorting. It was reported that Stuart Cochrane is/was exploring his indigenous heritage in order to have Dougie be applicable for Ports NGA. Could all be coincidental but he didnât feel the desire to explore it at any other stage in his 46yo life? Or even when his other son was coming through? Iâm not blaming him at all as itâs what the rules allow, but just seems an obvious rort on paper that the AFL created.
Will effect next year - but Dougie Cochrane has been officially approved to join Portâs NGA.
If the family had to âexplore their indigenous heritageâ and they have been disconnected from it for generations⊠surely that defeats the purpose of what these NGAs should be about.
Rort.
PS: I also thought it was a rort when we got Brand and Eyre, but they werenât at the pointy end of the draft.
WC maxmimized their draft hand by losing their â â â â out of the season. Then, they did with their captain what we couldnât. Is it a win win?
They get a better player at pick 1 than mcgrath.
They get the pick of the board free hit at pick 2.

They only want it less compromised for some. Happy to compromise the â â â â out of it to the benefit of others.
It will be a huge mistake if we overlook Huss. He has some special talent to find the ball and space in F50 to generate so many shots. Yes he is couple of seasons away from AFL ready, but he certainly talented.
