Is there a player in this years open draft that’s significantly better at their current picks(2/3) than ours? Say we get pick 4 which is likely because StKilda will win again where we won’t.
Centrals game tomorrow clashes with the Norwood game today so will have to watch a replay when I get home but Dyson is starting on the wing in the league side and they are giving a debut to Dougie so I’ll be interested to see how he handles it
At the moment we probably get pick 5 so if things work out for us we could get up to 3 or 4
i like the profile description of Harley Barker from Sturt, athletic, running capacity, accurate booming kick.
Just back from the AGSV final, PEGS won it easy, Ivanhoe had a solid last quarter, but it was over at 3/4 time. CDT was good, nice marks around the ground and good ruck work. Took a good mark about 15 out and missed the easy set shot which wasn’t ideal. He moved behind the ball a little and intercepted, swapped ruck duties with another kid.
Would consider it a solid outing without dominating, the Ivanhoe ruck was a big boy with some talent, other might have a better idea of who he is, but didn’t let CDT have it all his own way.
It’s great to see you back!
Glad to have you back, but four years is a long time to get home from the ground.
Pub crawl?
Sounds like…Mikunder player…
Ahem.
I’ll get my coat.
Don’t post much these days but I have been watching some of the draft profiles for this year. At first impression I thought this guy was pretty vanilla and a bad kick but if he is still there out our pick we have to go for Dyson Sharp. We don’t have a player like this in our midfield. I’d go Sharp and Grlj. We don’t have either of these two types atm. I’d also be happy with Cumming and Grlj if Dyson is gone.
Isn’t Merritt, Parrish, Caldwell and Tsatas and Caldwell inside minds? Could be wrong but gril and sharp are also inside mids yeah?
Who is this other Caldwell?
Don Caldwell from Twitter?
I figured we needed another caldwell

Just haven’t had anything interesting to say, could be argued most of what I’ve posted in the past isn’t all that interesting.
Just my opinion but I don’t think so. Sharp is more of an inside bull that looks to be pretty strong in the air. He looks Durham would be the closest comparison to be but even Durham didn’t look like a bull when we played GWS recently. This is what we wanted Hobbs to be. Cumming is a jet. This guys looks like he plays really direct football with a good kick. I think Duursma is the #1 and won’t be available and others prefer and Lindsay and Greeves which is also fair enough. Could be wrong guys like Noober and Don1 would know more.
I think we need transition midfielders and my understanding is cumming can do that but more so would be jevan phillipou and Harley Barker or Matt Le Ray which should help with athletic speed which is a real priority nowadays. Greaves and Sharp are not that quick with that two way running ability. I agree cumming is similar to Durham and I’m a huge fan but think we have that type already and need the speed now
Richmond might win one more. But percentage wise would finish below us. We need them to knock off North and StKilda which I thinks a big ask. They won’t beat the saints and north in Tassie is actually quite tough.
i think the ladder will stay about where it is now.
StKilda has an opportunity to go past Melbourne.
Which could give us picks 4 and 5 before free agency compo. Or picks 5 and 6 if Allen nets the eagles first round.
We won’t slip any further down the ladder.
I think the eagles will take the best forward in the draft as they are losing Allen with one of their picks. Unsure of the tigers priorities.
perhaps we could trade up with west coast (assuming there’s get it pick 2) if there’s a top vic prospect we really want ahead of Richmond’s two selections.
The tiges could offer the same though, and be better picks.
