2025 FF Original Trade Bait / Discussion Thread

I have Toby Nankervis on the table (ruckman averaging 100+) on the table for anyone that is interested in a ruck. Has sole ruck dibs at Richmond.

Also have Taylor Adams (F/C) averaging near 70.

If anyone wants Caleb Mitchell or Nat Fyfe, offer me a pick.

I won’t be around on Sunday.

I’m happy to hang on to my keepers and excess picks and sort stuff out during the draft.

Unless there is a very late change of heart, these guys aren’t making my keepers so all you need to do is choose any old crappy draft pick and post it in the confirmed trade thread and he’s yours:

  • Luke Pedlar. I rate him highly and he is a DTer, but I’m not sure he gets much of a look in given the players Adelaide have traded for and drafted.
  • Deven Robertson. He is a forward mid. Poor guy was a magnet at junior level, but has been lost in the Brisbane shuffle his whole career.
  • Hugo Ralphsmith. Is a mid but I’m expecting that to change through the year. Had his breakout early last year but tailed off in the second half. Should get a greater opportunity to score at Richmond.
  • Brad Close. Tailed off last season after a strong start. Might return back to being a 70s scorer, may not.
  • Mason Cox. He’s a forward / ruck. There aren’t that many rucks, so if you need one, just offer anything.
  • Jack Darling. Well past his used by date. But may get back to high 60s at North. He seemed to have a spell in the ruck too so he might be a decent pickup.
  • Lachlan McNeil. Average at best.
  • Tom McCartin. I considered him a career scrubber, but he was okay this weekend. It’s most likely a false dawn, but he’s already the coaches favourite.

Darling with 89 today :astonished:

He’s a North Melbourne player.
Too many Ben Jacobs false dawn vibes about him.

How high can I get packaging picks 51, 56, 74, 92?

May consider Quaynor for a first who almost tonned up as a back.

I’d consider Ainsworth on the table if I can get back into the first.

Jordan Boyd potentially available.

Aliir Aliir is available. As is Darcy Tucker and perhaps even Mr Evergreen, Travis Boak. I after another ttop 10 pick so hopefully these pieces and swaps if necessary get me that I am happy.

I’m looking to trade into the second round of the draft.
I’d be willing to trade some of my current picks to grab a pick.
I’d also be willing to trade Wayne Milera or Cooper Lord if you have any interest in them.

If you’re interested, PM me.
Otherwise I’ll PM you with offers.

Edit…
Something like a 4th round pick + a later pick for a 2nd round pick. May even add a player or extra pick into the trade.

@wimmera1 Davidson already taken mate

Yep.
Fixed.

I’d consider trading down from 30 but I wouldn’t want to drop too far and it’d obviously have to be worthwhile from the incentive viewpoint. And based on rules set out by Blummers it’d have to be organized before pick 18 is taken.

Getting in early on future rounds.

I’d be interested in trading into the 3rd round if anyone is comfortable shifting down.
I’d prefer to trade anything from round 6 onwards.
If that’s not of interest, then I’d be willing to include a round 4 pick in the trade.
Also willing to include Wayne Milera or Cooper Lord into the trade if you’re interested.

PM me if you’re interested.

For those that I’ve already had some trade discussions with, I’ll offer something.
Will sort it out this sometime later tonight.

Wait…didn’t trade period end?I thought we could only trade picks now? So we can still include players?

Apparently, yes. The new platform allows a lot more things. But there’s some gremlins and the app version appears to be hamstrung.

I missed the fine print too.

Yes you can still include players.
Initially you could also include future draft picks, but that got scrapped due to concerns around trading away too many picks and then leaving the competition all together. This seemed fair enough and we’ll sort out rules around this during the season and see if it can come in for the next draft.

It wasn’t so much fine print. The changes were highlighted and seemingly ignored when the rules were posted .
It is what it is, but they were firstly posted in January sometime and then tweaked from then as comments were made.
I tried to push some discussion on some of them which led to the removal of future draft picks being traded which was great.
But there was very little other discussion.
So we’ve dealt with it as it being realised.
It is frustrating but it is what it is.

We can ā€˜turn off’ the chance to trade players in trades if we want. There haven’t been any trades made yet and it’s likely the only trades made will be pick trades anyway.
There’s also a chance that no one trades at all and uses what the picks they have and sort the other stuff out later.

Next minute …

Haha.
That was timely. Hopefully I win Tattslotto this weekend.

The most frustrating thing is you can’t trade picks on the app. Only on a computer.
And requesting the desktop version of website on my mobile doesn’t work either.

Didn’t we used to vote on any rule tweaks?

Completely acknowledge I didn’t read it when it was released but probably assumed we would vote on any changes.

My fault for not paying attention.

Also my fault for having no idea what’s going on in this draft.

I’m not sure about voting on rule changes.
There was only voting on position changes by the coaches.
To be fair, there were no real rule changes though we’d done everything that UF could do. Then when that went bust, we went across to that other crappy platform (I think it was TeamBench) and had to make some adjustments to suit that. I don’t recall it going to a coaches vote. Dunlop just did what he could to fill the gaps.

There was a chance for coaches to raise concerns this time around though.
Maybe instead of posting the rules in a thread and hoping coaches read it, I could have sent it via PM. Or alerted coaches another way.
It also doesn’t help that we have a trade thread and a discussion thread which makes it a bit convoluted.
I still think there would have been confusion though.

Regardless, if you can, read the last few posts in the main thread.

It looks like we’ll pause everything for the time being and try and work out with the admin group a way forward. Unfortunately, the AFL Fantasy functions haven’t quite worked for us. We don’t want to keep going if we’re having problems with it. I have time tomorrow to clean things up but I’m cognisant of the time we’d need to complete a draft.
