I think the staff would have told him not to go flat out. Why not ease back into footy slowly, get confidence in the body and get back into the normal AFL cycle before taking the plunge in the AFL. No rush. As it is he is half way to a Bennel/ Delidio destiny. But at some point he has to be picked in the AFL.
Somewhere above in here l posted the casual observation that although Vigo was dominating the ruck, Brissy were sharking the hit outs way better than our own players. It was a very noticeable misconnect. Parish was very under whelming, no where near AFL level on the form he displayed today.
Liam McMahon is logically the only tall we could call up to play in defence against Carlton. So, what do we do? We play a backline of 190cm+ players including Hoare, Gallagher, Akuei, Sellers and Gerreyn for most of the game, with McMahon spending about 10 minutes back there. The stupidity involved really boggles the mind.
Think his form (for a smaller fwd) has been a little
more consistent and I’m seeing better things from him. Would like to see him get another opportunity alongside Kako and Caddy to see how he goes or where he fits in. Gresham and Menzie aren’t the future. Maybe Davey isn’t either but at least expose him in the firsts to find out.
