As someone whoās worked in leadership roles and appointed many for 25 + years this is such a bleeding obvious decision. So, watch the EFC fumble it and make an easy and obvious decision by appointing McGrath. I have no idea why heās always been the anointed captain other than the fact the club has been run by clueless imbeciles with zero modern day business nous or understanding. The next captain should be Redman without a doubt. Heās a natural leader, doesnāt take sht, hates losing, is comfortable with the media; and history suggests he needs some pressure to get the best out of himself. He was the first person to call out Merrettās off-season shenanigans. Thereās nothing inspiring about McGrath. Red Dog is our guy.

As a fan I want a bloke who isnāt a ā ā ā ā and will stick fat with the club. Like I have as a fan for decades.
Durham turns 25 this year and will click over 100 games.
Whilst ideally he could use another year or so, I think he has that vibe of spiritual leader. And while itās not perfect, he will grow into the role.
Iād take a punt and make a bold Durham captain call.

I love Duzz, but listening to him talk he doesnāt come across as a captain.

I think @El_Don probably gave up the other alternative to McGrath. Redman would be good.
Iād certainly like to say have em nominate him as an option and see them captain head to head in an intraclub.

Leadership group McGrath, Redman, Caldwell, Durham, Roberts - I would have had Martin over Roberts, but he need to focus on injury recovery.

Correct. But the real surprise is Fiorini elevated to the leadership group, without ever playing a game for Essendon. He must be a very very high quality pickup.
