2026 Crichton Medal

Duz Sharp Robey Farrow Roberts - all expected to be with us for 5+ years which is a great sign.

Who were the others in the top 10, assume Prior is another one who also falls into the above category. Did Wright squeeze into the 10? Off the top of my head Mcgrath and perhaps Redman?

My point is it was far closer than usual. Merrett didn’t have his best year.

7 Crichtons is a fair representation of zachs consistency but unfortunately also probably a good reflection of how poor Essendon has actually been over the same period.

Caddy was 4th or 5th

This is a sick sight. Cant wait to close the chapter on our former captain moving to our arch rival for the first time in history.

A photo of Merrett with Reynolds and Hutchison.

Good grief.

Essendon driving the point home to the Hawks on the offer we want for him with that graphic :joy:

Fair effort from Sharp, Robey and Farrow in their first year.

Very promising signs that 7 of the top 10 are under 25 and 5 of the 7 are under 21. Bodes well for the future if we can keep recruiting well and bring in some experienced veterans.

compare this to Richmond’s top 10 and its chalk and cheese

I am very happy for younger brigade. Only ZM and 2MP are the oldies in top 10.

Just quietly… in a voting system where you basically are guaranteed votes in any game you play

How does Andrew McGrath who is our captain and played 20 out of 23 games not make te top 10?

Played 5 more games than Robey and Sharp lol

Surprises/thoughts for me:

Roberts 3rd. Thought he was okay, not great. But probably reflective a little bit on how our season went.

Prior 9th. Thought he would have placed higher personally.

Reid 6th. How good, go Reidy.

Sharp 7th. Probably the lowest he’ll finish in the next 10 years.

He got 0 coaches votes this year for the first time in his career.

Clappers still say he had a very good year though.

Maybe the voting system doesn’t guarantee votes in any game you play?

Hey I was pretty close

Very happy considering Dyson wasn’t sure if he would play more than a couple of games after coming back from his shoulder. Did well to push through the pain and crack in even though it would have been pretty easy to throw in the towel when we were getting rinsed most weeks

When we ask ‘where is this club’s leadership?’

They’re not even on the board.

McGrath and Redman…. Nowhere to be seen.
