I do think Szerszyn is quite similar, but with Kondog on the books I imagine its a lower priority than other holes to fill.

It will be interesting if Ridley leaves or Ben Mckay leaves/retires not that I think he will. Harry Jones will probably play out his last season down back as well with others in Blakiston and Langford filling that hole. IMO we are probably unlikely to draft a defender at all this draft unless some pick swap/trade puts us in the realm of Snell/Harris. But that’s all list discussion.

I think we definitely do need a proper physical key defender to match up on the powerful gorilla forwards. Reid isn’t really suited to those jobs. It was supposed to be Ben McKay but that’s looking like a dead end.
I’d be very surprised if we don’t draft one of Snell, Harris or Bradley.

Yeah would love to be proved wrong here. Do you have concerns with Bradley’s athleticism? He probably isn’t as quick as Snell or Harris but has that stronger frame/build to him which helps his case.
Yes I think his lack of pace is a concern, wouldn’t surprise me if he slid a little due to it, but the rest of the package is enough to make him attractive for the role we need.

Importantly, by refusing Hawk’s “disrespectful” trade offer, and trading him to them this year at a big discount - we have shown the Hawks that we won’t be pushed around.

We were reportedly keen on CDT last year. HVH seems to have some similarities.
From those that watch the kids play, who is the better prospect, CDT or HVH?
Based purely from CDT underage form.
Also, who is the best kick in the draft class? Like Lindsay last year who we were also supposedly keen on.

I don’t think it’s been mentioned! But he was the second live pick in last years draft.
I don’t remember him being a standout at u18 carnival. Probably good comparison of what we might get with HVH.

Great that we will get another 4-8 weeks vision of him if he now stays fit. Genuine chance at our pick clearly and the more data we have the better. Critical pick.
We are unlikely to get another true ‘uncompromised’ top pick until closer to 2029 so need to nail this years. Which will be compromised to an extent itself with no access to Cochrane and Walker but at least with no Tassie involved.
Wasn’t it 7 goals for the match but 6 in the final quarter? Think he got tripped but instead of taking the free kick tried to play on and kicked before he settled properly to miss an opportunity to take the lead….

Caught a good post on the Essendon Bigfooty board which made me have a think. We are desperate for KPDs (amongst many areas) yet later in the draft seems to be where the top teams have found theirs. Food for thought when debating whether we burn one of our early 2nd rounders on one…

Yeah, there will be some gems later in the draft. I will be really annoyed if we only take four picks.
I would like us to take a minimum of 6 to address some of these issues.

This is my ‘if I can’t be happy, no one can’ draft haul.
Pick 1 (pick 2 after a bid): Gus Teixeira. St Kilda tried to get him as part of their NGA, but a bit of an administrative error let him slip to the open pool.
Pick 16 (Hawks trade): Toby Krasna. Carlton missed out on him as part of their NGA.
Pick 19: Sam Gayfer. The nephew to Mick Gayfer who played 140+ games for Collingwood. Get chopped unc.
Pick 20: Khaled El Souki. Dogs NGA and given a trade for Zak Butters won’t be able to match an early bid.
Also considered Keenan Boi (Hawks NGA) and Gabe Patterson (son of Stephen Patterson of Collingwood who played about 96 games) at later picks.
