We could do the same thing and keep the ghost team for the season (or AS surfaces at some point), if he doesn’t show we can then have 60 players up for a mini draft.
I feel like at some point we have to get things moving.

I think enough time has passed that a decision needs to be made regarding Awesome Scotty’s team. Another coach was able to reach him via socials on the weekend, so he is aware that we are waiting for him, however he has not replied to this thread, my PMs or emails. He also mentioned he was considering not joining this year to the other coach. I understand he has been on Blitz today, so the opportunity has been there to make contact. I thought I’d wait for the day to pass in the USA, where I think he resides, and that has now happened. It is beyond midnight in LA, and 3:00am in NY.
Considering we have two teams without coaches, I think that a mini-draft is now the best option. Of the ~60 players going into this min-draft, all 16 coaches will have the opportunity to pick up a valuable player. Going with two ghost teams will mean two teams will effectively have the bye each round, which is less than ideal, and is going to pose issues from an admin perspective (eg. we can not manually adjust scores without paying a premium). With 16 coaches, there will be 60 extra players in the free agency pool, which I think is a good thing considering some teams struggled to field a full time at times in previous seasons.
The first round of the draft will be a “mini-draft”, where only the players from Bomber Pride 32 and Flanders can be selected. Players from these teams not selected in the first round, may be selected in any other round. I’ll post a list of the players available for selection in the mini-draft (ie. the first round of the upcoming draft) here.
I’ll need to amend the draft order to reflect the different number of teams, and the addition of the “mini draft” in the first round. Any picks that you received from Bomber Pride 32 or Flanders will remain yours. I’ll also extend the time for the first round to 12 hours, so everyone can get up to speed. After the first round, the time will revert to 6 hours. Please use the queue function to avoid any unwanted selections.

For the 60 players in the mini draft can we do a snake draft? Bit unfair that we use the current order given the quality added to the draft.

EDIT: Actually, considering the mini-draft would only go for one round, I’m not sure how that would work in practice.

Maybe use a spin wheel app to select the initial 18 picks then snake it from there.
Maybe the mini-draft can go for two rounds, and the second round would be reverse order

#1 and #32 seems reasonable to me.
As does #16 and #17.
I’m not sure why you wouldn’t use reverse ladder order, though. I don’t see why the premiers should be given the chance to pick up another 100+ player.
Yeah good plan. 36 selections in the mini draft then the rest of their players go into the player pool for the main draft.
Only 16 coaches, so only 32 selections. I think there’s 32 decent players to select from among those two squads.
We’re on the same page. It’s a snake ladder what you’re proposing, and that’s what we’re doing.
58 players in total, up to 32 get taken . Seems about right.
Can mini draft picks be a “pass” if players wish? ( Unlikely, but perhaps not impossible).

Crap teams are already rewarded with early draft picks in the real draft. And everyone is aware of this during the season
Why should crap teams be rewarded with early picks in the mini draft too? And if we were all aware of the mini draft during the season, some may have traded or ranked differently
A random draft order that reverses in the second round is very fair.

I don’t agree with random order. A two round snake draft makes sense to me as an equitable solution that doesn’t overly favour lower teams. The Premiers will have the chance to pickup two top 10 players with picks 16 & 17.
