2026 Fixture Updates

SATURDAY AFTERNOON FOOTY AT THE G

It would be fantastic for members if we got the Richmond fixture this year in 2026.

Richmond basically played most games either on Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon at 12:45 / 3:20pm. It was a ripper for families and country fans.

late arvo is the most boring time slot

I’ll probably won’t be going to many games if we get a lot of Sunday twilight or Sunday afternoon

It would be nice if we played an afternoon fixture against the Tigers next year. It’s been too long. West Coast at the MCG would be a nice change too.

Always Marvel or Optus time for West Coast to play us at the MCG

Gold Coast and Freo should be MCG as well

Club is pushing for an extra MCG home game I think we had 5 this year

Yep. We’ve played the Lions, Swans, Port, Freo and the Crows at the MCG in recent years. We’re due to play West Coast you’d think.

Pies refused to travel interstate for opening round so they got their wish to play a game at the MCG against Saints.

What crock of ■■■■

No dinner date clash? Or is it up to the Package to avenge his little mate?

Guessing it’ll be “round 1”

St Kilda v Collingwood must be being played somewhere random like Darwin or Tassie for two Melbourne sides to meet in round o

Belongs in the comedy thread

Collingwood requested not to travel in the first week and the Saints wanted to play at the MCG so guess who gets an “away” fixture at their home ground

Let’s be honest though. Any effort to make OR successful needed a big fixture at the MCG and that means Collingwood involved.

OR has I think become a real drag for the AFL. Rugby League is awakening and with Wildcard Round and SOO in February there’s a hint of panic in the air at AFL House I reckon. Dills is being outplayed by V’landys lately.

How are they getting around the Richmond Carlton contract for the first game?

Note an update to the weighted fixture rules. Teams can now get four double up games against teams who finished in their group of six (1-6, 7-12, 13-18) instead of three.

This means Essendon may have double ups against four of: PA, Melbourne, NM, Richmond, WCE.
