2 year contract on a 30 year old - there is really nothing to worry about.
This is terrifying, even without an injury or suspension all year, that is a bottom 3-4 team.

You highlight a good point though. Quite realistically, the club can name a team that has 14 players 25 or older and 12 100 game players. I’m not buying the young team excuse this year unless they actually play the younger players

I actually don’t think it’s that bad, and I’ve surprised myself by thinking that.
Just delete the half forwardline and pick 3 different players and it looks much better. We all know it’s our forwardline that has the most work to rebuild it.
Delete 4/6 of the forward line.

Peoples need to temper there expectations of Farrow. I met a bloke whose kids played throughout juniors with Jacob and his older brother in Perth. Don’t get me wrong, he said he is an absolute ripper - talented, dedicated, very coachable with a good temperament(unlike his older bro, who he said was equally talented, more physically developed but a hothead).
He said He doubted Jacob would play Seniors this year, and the club had little expectations of him doing so when drafted. Needs at least a year in the AFL system and to add kgs. But when he does - lookout.

Yes, but has that bloke seen Essendon play? The bar isn’t that high.
Really looking forward to these match sims starting as I think this kid will more than hold his own pretty much immediately.

Ha ha, he barracks for West Coast, so probably not. What struck me was more that they told him that there was no expectation on the clubs behalf. Maybe we are starting to do it right. No hype or pressure on an 18yo moving interstate. More important he settles in, enjoys his footy, focusing on developing his body for an AFL career.
