2027 - rolling Best 23

A lot of teams have Hayes starting in the 23 - and I hope he is..!! But the reality is he’s only played 1 AFL game where he was subbed off with a serious injury. We will want Blaki and McKay up and going pre-season just in case - and I’m still holding out some hope we find a spot on the list for Sellers..For now though if we assume Hayes is right to go in round 1 2027 team could be;-

Redman Reid McGrath
Roberts Hayes Coleman
Farrow Robey Duursma
Martin May Day-Wicks
Langford Caddy El-Achkar

2MP Durham Sharp

Bench: Bowes Caldwell Kako Prior Vigo/Bryan

Emergency: Clarke Johnson pick1 Blaki

This will sum up our year unfortunately.

Can we please rename this thread as “The Least Worst 23?”

Truth in advertising and all that

This is the second one I’ve seen and both have Hayes in them. He’s played half a game of afl and is coming off 2 knee reconstructions. It’s going to be McKay or Jones for most of next year and we’ll just have to deal with that unless we find one in the draft

I’m shocked that our man @ivan hasn’t posted here yet.

There’s been a few other best 23 threads around which I’ve contributed to don’t worry

You’ve listed 2 teams of 23 players.
We max out at 45 players including the indigenous rookie.
I like Sellers down back.

Good team listings, although personally I’d have Prior replacing Artemis on the ground, Vigo instead of Bryan and May somehow

some leadership group changes, or some changes in selection policy that means they aren’t automatically named in the team regardless of their form being ■■■■, might be needed.
