Could be a smokey debut this year. Was touted to go in the 20s.

Leave some polish for the rest of us please

Given he said “I swear if I have to hear this narrative one more time”, I’d say the answer is no.

It’s the year 1961 and young Archie Roberts has simultaneously made his parents proud by getting picked up by the Essendon Bombers and shamed them by refusing to get his long, wavy locks snipped. It’s a new era ladies and gentlemen, and hard to know what’s a man’s man anymore!

Ah 1961, when everyone was clear on this.

Isn’t that just the standard footy pose we were all taught as a kid!

Dodoros last two picks for the club, a HBF who can go into the midfield and a skinny project ruck. How fitting.

Just added a little garnish to that.

Vigo’s a pretty big boy. Good to have a couple of young rucks developing all the time, other wise we end up with stop gaps as we have for some years. And I reckon Archie will surprise. But I get your point. Dodo’s cops it, sometimes warranted, but he’s one of a few guys who’s had to work with the limited bounty that comes with consistent mid level results and no handouts like other clubs have got. It’s a game of fine percentages etc

I like Caddy…but I love Roberts
Actually I :two_hearts: all our players.
I just hope our guy has a long career but doesn’t get as many bandages as Joel Selwood.

Anything else you want to moan about while you are here?

Not sure you watching the same movie as me mate, Caddy a ripper, special IMO, Roberts looks ok as does Lual. Vigo skinny kid? Not!! His build for a 204cm kid is advanced. Hes not a project player as he can play… great natural kick, not awkward, marks well, moves around the ground like hes 190. Hes certainly got more going for him than Draper did on day one, and body wise, got Bryan covered too from early days. Not sure what not to like this draft, finally can see structure and a plan and these picks a big part of that

Ch7 news says this kid is the next Joel Selwood / Luke Hodge
Last year, that was Ben Hobbs and thats the way I am still thinking.
Not that over inflating expectations is anything new when we talk about the Bombers.
But yes, Archie is in the mix to play in 2024 and if there is something I hear already that I like, its a player with deadly accurate disposal coming out of D50

But lets take time for a reality check, when inevitably in his first game this kid tries a centering kick under AFL level pressure he has yet to experience, and a turnover leads to us conceding a goal.
From that point on, his fantastic disposal will rarely be used with such audacity again.

That Joel Selwood crap started from a comment i believe Lloyd might of made, i could be wrong (Sorry great man). From limited vision i see, how you get Selwood from that is ridiculous. I guess his Selwoodisms might not bee on his 3 minute highlight reel. Not to say hes not a chance to be special, but thats just a headline grabber. These kids are kids, yet to mature into their own styles most of them. The comparison stuff ok for a discussion i guess but its all guesswork untill they get out there with the big boys. … IMO

No, they just all like 1-2 players more for their list.

So how shallow is next year’s draft…
