You need both or you need to be exceptional at one of them to be an AFL player.
He’s a child. Give him a couple of years, the nous won’t disappear but the body will grow. Highly rated for a reason, covers a soon to be hole in the list. Probably of the two mid sized defenders we drafted the more likely to make it, looks a natural footballer. Vanilla can be a very reliable flavour. Let’s hope Lual can provide a sparking, mobile counter to Roberts’ consistent marshalling.
Imagine Ridley and Roberts working it out of defence, and Lual taking some of the aerial duties with his excellent reading of the flight. Good picks, up to the coaches and seniors to develop them right. We’ve had stop gaps and players too similar in their abilities for too long down back and middle.
Ricky Dyson Mark II.
Looks like a left footed Jake Lloyd, seems an elite kick, great pick up at 54.
More like Andy should of been pick 20ish.
No higher than 2.
I think we’ve picked the right types of players this offseason to balance the list out.
They may not be the actual players we persist with long term, we can upgrade or switch in subsequent off-seasons, but at least their selections make sense.
We aren’t fixing every issue in a single off-season.

or even 23 off-seasons.

Ricky Dyson Mark II.
Fun fact: Ricky Dyson was Nate Caddy’s VCAL teacher at school

Was he Archie Robert’s teacher also (you know, the third-round pick?)

To me he looks a lot like Andy McGrath with more pace and a better kick.
More pace? Yeah I don’t think so, Roberts is quick but certainly not at Andy’s level.
Surely we get a Maccas sponsorship if this Archie breaks best 22 with our existing Archie.
They will be the golden Archies.
We’ve got our mini Archie in the club often also
He’d be perfect for Maccas adverts
Andy is fairly fast without the ball, when he has it he seems sluggish, is that just me?

Cal had him ranked 16th in his August form guide. I wonder why he slipped so far?
We all knew this was a question that was going to be asked. There is no one clear, clean answer. I am not concerned that he slid from where he was 3 months ago, before he even tested. I am however very happy that he is a selection straight out of the JB hi-fi bargain bin. We have swooped and scooped and l look forward to seeing Archie take the ball at HB and kick to Archie at HF.
So who will play Jughead to this latest Archie?

He lead the AFL for running bounces, if he has time to bounce it so often he has enough speed to get away from opponents
Yeah saw a bit of Merret in his quick decision making.
Yes, he appeared to be a smart player. In that very short snapshot he appeared to read the play nicely and provide good link up and nice rebound movement… Apparently he isn’t great contested ball wise, but is that critical when you’re playing a linkup and rebounding playmaker type role?
He looked a smart safe pair of hands which we need, and a precision kick!
