that’s a serious insult
He bounces it every 5 steps, including the second he gets the ball
No, too many times he would run himself in to trouble and turn it over through lack of ball skills and/or awareness.
And he needs to reduce the bounces by one for every long run. So often he ends up running into pressure leading to a hack kick.
He’s deceptively quick with ball in hand I reckon.
He doesn’t look super fast but often if he’s got a break on someone they won’t make up any ground on him.
Yep which is why you can’t get too excited by under 18s numbers.
So much of it depends on who fills out first, not who’s actually best.
.
The big thing that happens between the nationals and the draft is testing.
Mind you plenty had him around the 30 ish mark leading in, give or take.
So he can’t have tested terribly.
Talk about setting the kid up there, idiot supporters will start comparing him to Selwood
He’s not slow that’s for sure, maybe it’s in my head more than reality.
I instantly get turned off any player the moment I hear they have a connection to a high profile person at the club. Whats the bet Dodo wouldnt have even gone for him had Lloyd not had some form of involvement with him? Eh I dunno. Just not keen.
Yeah, but no-one on this forum could give a tinker’s cuss about what your thoughts are…as has been demonstrated so many times.
nobody cares except the old geriatric who took the time out to have a crack at me about said opinion. well done, try again.
Could he play as a forward?
Yep for sure Matty would have given dods a call to draft this kid.
Didn’t we take a player that was recommend by Bewick one year?
think so, cant remember who though. lloyds last recommendation was harrison jones, and thats looking like an absolute dumpster fire

Yeah the chubby who did his knee

So who will play Jughead to this latest Archie?
nick cox!
There are a few factors. Others have mentioned combine results. I think the biggest factor in him sliding was just how many other rebounding defenders there were in this pool. Not every team is looking for that type of player.
I always thought that 16 was way too high for Archie. I don’t want to be too harsh but I always had him towards the back of that pack of similar types. He’s not quick, and his disposal is being massively over egged in this chat. He’s just okay by foot. His best trait is that he’s rarely rushed, he takes his time and makes good decisions. He has some penetration by foot, but he can be imprecise at times.
I have absolutely no idea what Matty Lloyd is talking about with the Joel Selwood comparison. That’s nutty. I havent seen him demonstrate reckless intent to attack the footy in the Champs or Talent League. He marks his man pretty closely as a defender and then is intelligent in picking his moments to run off and become dangerous. He’s not a hugely contested player, at least from what I’ve seen.
Overall, I think the best description of him is solid, intelligent and a bit vanilla.
@noobermensch in order, how would you have ranked Hastie, Jiath, Billy Wilson, Lual & Roberts as non key-position backmen?
