#21 Archie Roberts - thru 2026

Speaks like a leader but can back it up on the field we got a beauty with Archie nothing but high praise from Brad.

More like Andrew Mackie has found Andrew Mackie mk II

When you look at the list of Rising Star winners there have been many absolute champions and few if any duds. You may not regard Andy McGrath highly or perhaps Dyson Heppell our other winner, but if Archie Roberts wins this award it will be a great achievement.

Hopefully Ashcroft gets suspended during the year.

Well done Perko

Was he on 360 this week?

Credited Matty Llyod for helping him with his development and getting him on an AFL list

Can we not just make this a prerequisite for every single pick we make. We definitely do not have enough of this quality.

Merrett, Durham, Caldwell, Martin, Duursma, Caddy, Roberts have it.
Coincidentally, my favourite players.

(Tsatas, Kako maybe just haven’t seen enough)

Lewis Taylor, Rhys Palmer and Jaydin Stephenson all became complete duds.

But all others fleshed out decent careers.
I’m no Andy fan, but he’s not a complete spud like those other three.

Wow, you are tough judge.

Three spuds and the rest decent. Some absolute champions in that group that you call decent.

Lewis Taylor was a great junior and that first season was outstanding, and he beat the Bont for the Award, lost a bit of confidence with his kicking and didn’t improve much. Rhys Palmer was unlucky doing his knee and he never lived up to his potential after that. He beat Cyril Rioli for the Award.

Jaidyn Stephenson was a very good player, just has a brain of a knat.

In many ways Rising Star is a BS award, reckon it would be better served after three years of playing to make these judgements, if necessary at all.

bit surprising that for all the hype about them, hawks have a single player here and it’s sicily

Saad is 13th in the league?

Well the formulae is obviously flawed.
At least this stat is trying to combine both disposal efficiency and how damaging those disposals are.

But if Archie is 2nd, the stats need more work. Not putting him down, he’s a nice kick and he’s reliable, but there are some in the league who deserve to sit levels above him.

Wrong thread?

yep hahaha

Superb player, suspect clubs are gonna go after him, too good for this mob

Surprised he only had 17 touches vs Eagles. Thought it would have been 23 at least. Another good game from Archie.

9 games.

He’s played 9 games.

Looks like a premiership backman already.

Agree! He’s a smooth mover, great ball user and hates to lose, unlike much of what we have down there. Lloydy obviously a big fan but he’s playing like a top draft pick for mine and looks to be a reliable player who gives a $hit
