#21 Archie Roberts - thru 2026

He’s a good kick.

He was a renowned good kick as a junior and his technique is solid.

I suspect he is just adjusting to the pace of senior footy and also having to deal with the lack of targets upfield (which is more of an issue when you are an aggressive user - like he is).

Not an issue.

They aren’t hospital passes, nor were Hepps for the most part. They just take too damn long to arrive at their destination.

Kicks that look completely fine when they’re out in space. Or would look perfectly fine on a suburban footy ground. Kicks that are successful at the junior level, and wouldn’t have raised an eyebrow in the 90s. But they often get in to trouble in the confines of today’s game.

he doesn’t kick floaters, i think his hang time is pretty good. they’re often just slightly over hit or not to advantage

My point is Roberts is excelling at the effort part of the game, and has some work to do on his kicking. Tsatas’ effort game is poor, as is his kicking. People are more forgiving of skill errors when they can see the player is leaving everything out on the field.

And how is your commentary around Perkins and Hobbs any different to what you consider “foamer toxicity” when people comment on Tsatas’ game?

Not sure what your point is TBH.

Apparently so was Tsatas in his draft profile.

His kicking style reminds me of Luke Hodge.

Just needs a bit more polish.

Hard disagree.

fair enough

Dylan Clarke?

I will leave this one here. A big positive for the night. Absolutely solid a year as you can get and to think it’s only his first full season.

He also spent all night ripping into Mansell.

I love this kid. He has to be our next captain. Ill spew if its Andy.

HIs disposal is starting to wane, personally I put it down to accumulating fatigue as he has played all season and in a pretty bruising manner.

Also pretty confident that he will get better with every preseason

it will be caddy, unless merrett leaves he will stay as Captain for at least another 3 years

He does not take a backward step. It’s funny how James Brayshaw said that Archie is the most quite and relaxed kid. He just can’t understand when he sees his aggression on the field and where it comes from hahaha. As the old saying goes it’s the quiet ones he needs to watch out for.

Really love him but he is a bit sloppy with the ball and hand at times. Just needs to tighten that a bit but love his defensive side and attack on the ball.

Was also only behind Durham for contested possessions. Leadership material

“HIs disposal is starting to wane,”

Really ?

I love his fight. Our players were seemingly pushed after every contest by tigers players and each time we just trudged off. Show some bloody pride and have a crack boys. Getting pushed around by old men and 18 year olds….

Led the ground for intercepts with 11 and cracked in all night. Was probably our best player tonight. What a ripper young player we have

Thing about this lad is when the team is neck deep in ■■■■, he keeps fighting . It’s what we lack in 80% of the list.

Keep:

Durhum
Caddy
Roberts
Caldwell
Merrett
Kako
Vigo
Reid
May

The rest are not finalists
