We simply dont have any of those, gotta work with what we got. I agree with you but we just dont have them at the moment.
“Draper has been the best thing to happen by far“
Stop ! Enough now, you can’t dig yourself out of the hole you dug in, and no matter what you say from here on I certainly won’t take any notice of your comments.
You really know SFA about what it takes to be an AFL footballer. The kid was playing his first game, and all you could say was negative remarks about useless he would be.
Mozzies first 3 touches involved score involvements in his first game. And yet all you can say is Draper is the best thing so far? That is just rubbish.
Mozzie will bring fans back to game whilst a couple of the Richmond players thought Mozzie reminded them of Cyril, - not too bad in your first game.
Were you watching from Stockholm, the picture must have been grainy.
My youngest wears “22” and all season has loved telling everyone it is Mozzie’s number.
Coincidentally, my boy kicked 2 goals yesterday as well. (As did my eldest who got best on ground and wears 25…pity Stringer couldn’t do similar)
Humble brag about my boys was completely intentional!
Mo22ie is now best 22.
Kicked 2 goals
First goal with his 2nd kick in AFL
First game on 22nd August
2 marks
2 tackles
Lid o22
Love him, think he is legit but if we have our absolute complete best team available he is not in it YET
Possibly wont be long until he is tho
see, I think we should play him every week we can unless he needs a rest or he’s injured
Is a duck worth doing around a mosquito?
He looks much better in red and black than yellow and brown. I just hope we can keep him smiling.
Best bit about the run was the smallest detail: He ran 15, then bounced, then ran 15 and kicked.
The best way to build his in-game running ability is to play him for as many seniors games as his body will tolerate.
This is one aspect our development has been poor over the last decade, some kids will only get better and fitter with actual games of football
So do I 100%
But partly thats because we are what 7-8-9 players away from having our absolute best squad available anyway
If I were Moz I would lock my sights firmly on Raz’s spot. There for the taking imo.
Orazio Fantasia: I’m the forward pocket for Essendon, and have the best name in the AFL.
Irving Mosquito: Hold my beer.
One other more small detail was the deft drift to the pocket to give him more time to balance and slot it home.
Stringer was also superb with the attempted shepherd.
What about the bounce with the right hand? He’s one of those guys.
Cahill reminds me a bit of Snelling currently. but is better around goals. would be better if he was taller but meh.
His work rate to get a game so early in his career and kicking bags of goals in ressies gives me hope he can make it.
doesn’t have any major weapons though, just football smarts.
hoping he turns into something more like devon smith. And we haven’t really seen what he can do in the midfield yet.
Agree re Stringer’s effort to shepherd and protect Mozzie . We don’t do enough of it.
We could and should play Raz, Tippa and Mozzie in the same forward line.
We need to get Raz fit enough first.
That is looking increasingly doubtful with each day.
I know I have been harsh on a 3 gamer, but he is not a physical player and cannot mark the ball over his head. His speed is average also for a shortish player. I know that people want him to succeed, but impressing in scratch matches is not the same as AFL footy. Shame this has been an interrupted season, because we are not getting a real sense of how good these kids are.
