Imo, Cale is - and has been for quite some time - the heart and soul of the club. Maybe even going right back to when he refused to be traded. That said everything about his love for the footy club.
Excited to see what Moz brings tonight.
3rd game in so he should be getting more and more match fit.
I agree and have always loved him. That said - it helps when you’re a bloody good footballer to go with it. We’ve had a number of great clubmen that maybe didn’t enjoy the same praise of ‘heart-and-soul’, because they were not, or are not, elite. Zaka springs to mind.
True, but there’s a workmanlike element to Cale’s “elite” that plays a large part in his onfield persona , imo. Gets and gives everything he has from himself and it stands out. Of course, I guess that’s what makes him elite.
His two biggest assets; strength and strength of character
This ■■■■ club owes Hooker a premiership…or at least a finals win!
Really like what Mo22ie brings to the side. Works hard and also looks dangerous whenever the ball is around. I think he has a far higher ceiling than Cahill and we need to keep pumping games into him.
He was so clean and good in scoring chains but needed to kick that goal . Keep persisting, let him know the level and give him a pre-season goal. You can’t teach his natural ability.
Agree. Got involved more in general play this week, very good signs .
As he gets fitter there will be more and more run down tackles.
Only thing I noticed a little and I could be wrong but he seems to want to hip and shoulder rather than tackle.
He gets front and centre to contests to crumb. Richmond do this really really well.
Haven’t seen that much from our smalls this year.
I really liked seeing him stick a few big tackles in the second half - sometimes he gets stepped around or brushed aside too easily, which I guess you expect from a third gamer.
You can see his inexperience has him looking to give off the handball more often than he probably should as well, which will get better over time as he learns to back himself more often.
Just keep getting games into this kid because once it clicks for him, he’s going to be a very good player IMO.
began to time his runs well between roving forward, and assisting further up the ground.
Thing is,his physique is one that can be built upon.
Im seeing potential for a body that can win a bit of inside ball, but be able to stream away as well.
Huge ceiling.Huge.Loved his pressure on Tuesday as well.
Showing signs that he might be a lot more than just an opportunistic small forward.
He is a good user of the ball, like his tackling pressure too, a bit like tippa will chase from a long way back and make up ground quickly.
Also knows how to lay a bump and when to do it.
Just need his fitness to improve. my guess his progression would go FP-> HFF->wing
Wing position is for the fittest players on your list.
I know he will get fitter but he will never be in the top bracket.
He will be a good small forward. Can’t see him playing on ball or wing/
Hits the front and centre at speed, love that about him
Haven’t seen him make any notable if any mistakes with ball in hand, looks to have the skill level already to compete now it’s just the fitness and confidence at the level that needs to go up a level.
It’s obvious to me he should stay in the side for the rest of the year and should be made to do his best to keep his best 22 spot and not have to work his way in again at the expense of the likes of Zaharakis.
