How do the saints expect it to get it done without trading pick 5, particularly now? If they manage to get the crows to hand over their picks for pick 5, they will now have to give us 9 and not 13. We would rather two picks 15 and 18 then just pick 9.
They should quickly decide whether they will send us pick 5, if not they should concede they can’t match the Hawks offer to the bombers. Don’t keep stuffing everyone around!
He’s already said that he will go to the Hawks if a deal could not be done with the Saints. That means if we don’t like what they are offering then no deal. We’ve said all along we want 5. Anything less and he’s gone to the Hawks. Dodoro was kind of stalling last night when pressed if Jake could sign with the Hawks right now. He was basically buying the Saints some time to work out their next play.
Divine intervention from the football Gods if we end up with 5 picks inside 25.
Seriously can build something very special with that, and address all our needs.
Not sure how it's Hawthorn's fault, or the AFL's in this case.
Carlisle's not a free agent. Hawthorn didn't use any compensation picks.
That they were able to offer a second first round is on North, not anyone else.
There's a lot of clubs who could have offered similar but in at least two cases they decided to try to be smartarses about it.
And I don't see how that's on the AFL either.
Like anyone, I’m not overly excited about sending one of our best young players to Hawthorn so they can win another flag.
What I don’t care about, is the AFL, other clubs, and opposition supporters.
We don’t owe anyone sht. We need to do what’s best for our club, and fck who cares what it does to the the AFL competition.
By the time we are ready to challenge, Hawks may be on the way down. St Kilda may well be challenging with us so I don’t mind if Carlisle goes to Hawthorn over Saints.
Bains can take his law degree and stick it up his @&^&
Outsmarted by one of the best operators in the business…Well done Adrian and thanks for all the hard work
Finally he is been given the freedom to do his job
Why hasn't the GWS deal gone through yet?
That doesn't involve anyone else and is a no brainer for both unless GWS are trying to get a better deal from someone else.
There might be other deals being put forward to them.
I might be asking a really dumb question here, but why cant we just use picks 23 & 25 to bid for the GWS academy kids?
Because by the time pick 23 comes along those players will have been bid on, points matched, and wearing GWS jumpers.
Ok, this adds to previous answer, thanks also.
I haven’t had the time to research the new points and bidding system.
How dare Hawthorn realise that draft picks are massively overrated & trade away their early picks for players 6 of the last 7 years & then take a mature guy with their only 1st round pick they kept. Damn their lack of stupidity!
