#22 Sam Durham - thru to 2028!

When people see Dylan Shiel with 30 disposals and think he has a good game, this is the effect.

We’ve actually gone back to putting Stringer in there now, rather that give Durham a single bounce tonight.

Durhams played a half as a backman and this half as a forward pocket.

This times 1 million.

Disgraceful.

Maybe Durhams first year playing inside has him a bit banged up, spread the load rather then only rely on Caldwell and Durham to do the dirty work

Why do people talk about Durham like he’s a raw 18 year old? He’s 23 FFS. He has played over 70 games of AFL football. If he’s too sore then rest him for a week, people are clutching at straws and hoping the horrible reality before their eyes isn’t real. Which is, Brad wanted Shiel and Parish, the proven winning combination back in the midfield rotations and Durham got moved out. Hobbs never got a look in. And if that is true, then the reality of Brad Scott as coach becomes painfully real, that he has no fcking clue.

He’s playing injured isn’t he. He’s not covering ground and running. Hampered by something.

Genuinely mind numbingly bad coaching.
All year Scott has had no idea how to play the players in their best spots.

No, he’s been moved to the forward line.

He covered plenty of ground last night when it was his turn to go. He attacked the ball hard most times he went near it.
Its just another wake up call to the failure that is our coaching staff.

Could win a brownlow from there…

Why play a clearly injured player in a dead rubber?

We need two Sam Durhams tbf, but I’d seriously consider Duz start 2025 off a hbf fwiw. And Zach on the other… Martin goes down to a hff and just bin Redman off to only 7th defender given his prolonged drop off. Ridley and either Reid or Hayes back along McKay as our 3rd tall

Both Duz and Zach are v good defensively and tackle well. For mine we’d certainly get better bang for our buck from those two with Ridley as their KPD and CHB.

Is it positional tho? I feel like he’s been moved back to wing since Duursma and Cox are out of the team.
I don’t agree with it, but I feel like that’s what’s happened.

Its been repeated plenty of times but he’s been shunted from the centre square ever since parish returned. Its no coincidence

And Shiel, not defending Brad here because we still got murdered at stoppage with Shiel and Parish in the team but I remember pre bye, after Parish got injured in the Giants game, Caldwell and Durham just weren’t getting it done in the centre against North, Tigers, and Sun’s and Brad was back to running Stringer through there to get some clearances which was also ineffectual.
Now I’d say who cares just keep Durham in there for development, but Brad is for the here and now.

Duz been sold the old hospital handpass with that year in review video…

ā€˜I think I spoke with Andy and a few guys out there on the back end of that Brisbane game, we were just standing out on the ground there and I said…dont want to be in this position again and they were all just looking around and said yeah nah, this is the last time we’re ever gonna do this, we’ll be playing finals…’

If only they’d had that epiphany last year. After they’d lost the last two games by like 190 points collectively.

It felt like the media department looked around the room and went, ā€œhmm Andy can’t do it, not believable enough and Zac you do it every year. Duz young man, how are your acting skills? We need a Cody Weightman like finals acting performance here, nothing but the best will do for these Essignton supporters. Have a little read of this script for usā€.

Hope he goes up a level.

He is everything I love about Essendon these days.
A go’er … hard at the contest.
He’s got little fear and by the way can pack mark and kick a goal. Handballs well too.

He plays football for all the right reasons.

Has become my favourite player. Need another 2 of him for each part of the field.
