#22 - Sam Durham - thru to 2032!

Play as a 75% forward instead of Perkins he would give us far more as a forward threat.

Right now on form, should be nowhere near the midfield.

How funny that his goal comes from the fact he couldn’t be farked defending, we got the turnover and a handball to him while he was in no mans land and snapped it.

What has happened to this guy?

Signs a long-term contract at Essendon” and “form goes over a cliff”.

Name a more iconic duo…

There are two doors once you sign an Essendon contract - 1. Lose form, forget how to football 2. 2-3 yr injury and setbacks

The issue is that he is playing like the rest of the team. The question is not why can’t Durham hit a target, the question is why can’t anyone hit a target.

He’s one of the few that has shown the required effort levels. But he is going at a million miles an hour and making mistakes with ball in hand. Some of the fumbles and double grabs are because he’s under the pump every time. Not getting any ball in time and space to be able to dispose it with composure.

Essendon long term contract signing strikes again, all he needs now is a recurring injury and two years of sporadic poor performance and he is up there with the best of them.

Duz will be fine.

I know we are all throwing arrows, but very low down the order on our list of problems.

He is extremely dangerous in the contest inside f50. Has a decent penetrating kick off both feet. Despite yesterday’s effort, he is usually a good overhead mark. Has the tank to run up and back, decent pace and tackler.
He has all the tools to be a very effective high half forward.

At least he gives a damm even if he’s not playing well

Welcome back Samuel.
We have missed you.

What? He was poor again.

His best footy is great. He’ll have moments in games where he’ll do things that make you sit up and think ‘Damn, this guy is elite.’ Then he’ll do it again a few moments later, and then… you don’t notice him for a quarter and half.

He just seems to drift in and out of games. He’s on the verge of being a really, really good footballer, but he’s not one.

I probably went a bit early.

He looked back to himself at times in the first half. Went missing in the second half.

He’s being Essendoned, the same way as has happened to all our other top prospects once they signed a long term contract.

Yep and his contact is based on his top 10% instead of his long term average and we’ve made this same list management error consistently over the last decade

Disposal and decision making a major issue (like the rest of our mids). 8 clangers last night.
