We all agree he’s had a poor start to the year, our entire midfield has and they are all suffering more because of eachother.
Saying that, he’s still at 21 touches, 4 tackles, 4 clearances and a goal a game.
Hes also ranked in the top 15 of the comp in centre clearances per game, and 13th in goal assists in a team that cannot score.
C graders who are playing badly do not have that sort of output.
And I agree elite players dont go missing for half a game, but who thinks B graders are elite?
I agree mate,
We will get pick 1 this year and another two late first rounders.
Then Bewick and Justice the year after and probably some decent compensation for Merrett and others who want to leave.
Its not all doom and gloom but it starts with making some hard choices, including getting rid of Brad.
I actually understand why you like Scott too Nino - he does talk very well and he probably does kind of understand what needs to be done I just dont think he has the capability or the support network to do it.
His biggest failure has been the absolute dud assistant coaches he has surrounded himself with imo.
I’m not sure why everyone is jumping off this guy, he’s a gun, but as with all players, being Essingtoned.
He’s a midfielder that can push forward and rest forward. He should be first picked and play more midfield than anyone else. Remember his breakout year when that was where he played? Then Parish came back from injury and it threw everything out of wack. He’s also a victim of being able to play multiple positions unlike Parish and Caldwell.
For the next month I would have Durham, Tsatas and Caldwell/Merritt as starting mids. Caldwell if we want to have a more defensive presence, Merrett if more attacking. And have Merrett play more forward, maybe swapping with Kako
He can be a solid B-grader but needs to improve his consistency and discipline which comes back to having a good coaching setup to develop him properly.
He can bring intensity and pressure to our forward line, and will be a decent threat near goal if we keep him at half forward with occasional stints on the ball.
I have come to believe that a lot of Blitzers simply don’t watch other games or are incapable of critically benchmarking our players against the rest of the competition.
Why can’t he find the pill? We need to make an effort to give him the ball at all times and get him involved. He’s the barometer of the club no Martin is never going to play again..
I would like to see his role in the side be predominantly up forward with some runs through the midfield. He is great applying pressure and has pretty solid hands above his head. I just don’t think he has the tank to be a permanent midfielder hence why I think he goes missing most games.
Exactly. These guys spend 80 of the time in the midfield, get 25 useless touches and fans think they are great. Caddy is the only player I have confidence in becoming A grade not even Kako but very hopeful there. We are absolutely shot to be honest and no leaders to show the way. Watching Luke Parker destroy us last night made me wish we had him at least
From mid-season pick up to solid player than yes, he had a breakout year. It was not a break-out year in regard to becoming an AFL star or anything.
He has had 10 career brownlow votes and is nearly 25.
He shows flashes of brilliance, and i love his attack on the ball but he just needs to find more consistency from quarter to quarter. He has averaged around 21 touches a game for 3 seasons now and needs to find another gear.
In a months’ time he will get a new mate in the side called Sully Robey, i think these two switching from mid to forward will be key to our future success.
Has gone backwards from the great form he showed in 2024. He is back to the standard he showed after his debut - he cones in and out of a game and rarely plays 4 good quarters. Very disappointing to see him regress the way he has. He had 12 possessions tonight. Not good enough Duz.
