it just doesn’t look great. he’s been somewhat pivotal to the way they play, but ultimately if you looked at this numbers from a north forward, you’d laugh your ass off and say what a dud.

Caddy and anyone is better than Jones and Wright ……after seeing the game tonight and how our forwards performed last week ……we aren’t winning a final until we get some quality forwards

Starting to think Jones + Wright + Langford can’t ever work. Would have thought coaches could address this by now but it’s clearly not working. They are all too static/weak in the air. Langford has other qualities but we desperately need one of Wright/Jones to be able to break even in those pack mark situations, based on how we’re moving the ball (slowly).
Good diversion. But we aren’t comparing Jones to Wright. Jones can’t stand on his own as a forward. He is a fifth string forward. VFL is his thing

This is where the absence of draper is felt imo, he naturally draws the ball and the defense has to respect him, which allows the softer trio of 2MP, Langford and Jones to get some space

Wright is playing much better in the ruck. I would use him there and open up the forward line for Jones.
It’s a shame that we have the inability to have Wright lead up and take a mark within 55 given he is such a good set shot.

Needs to recapture the early form from the St.K game to ANZAC Day.
The defensive pressure very noticeable in that block of games.
Unfortunately, it can’t happen in the Seniors, especially when Caddy deserves another look in the 1’s.
Another week, another 6 disposals.
Can’t believe so many people on here defend this guy for supposed defensive pressure. He’s not it.
Our key forward stocks are the worst in the league, up there with Richmond and Collingwood.

If Jones is still on the list it hopefully only as depth (like Weideman this year).
If you’re critical of our ball movement and delivery patterns inside 50 in other threads, then you probably should also have an understanding of how this translates to Jones’ lack of involvement. The Gresham baulk / bounce / kick to no one in the last quarter a case in point.
If we’re not going to use him for what he is, then find a big body pack crasher from somewhere for the mindless dump kick to 30 out.
