#23 Harrison Jones

If he’s not playing forward he’s not in the team

It either him or caddy

The only reason he looked on he was playing another that had never played on the wing Edie’s that was also a forward Maric lol

From my perspective, that’s the role he’s been playing all season. Paul Cousins described it really well on the lunchtime catch up podcast a few weeks ago.

Has a role. Playing it well.

He’s an ‘in addition to’ Caddy imo (noting at some point your team does get too tall)

I’m very interested in why people are quick to come in here and say he had a great game when he had a average game by his standards and even worse by AFL standards.

And why are people lying saying he kicked goals bad took contested marks when he kicked no goals and took one contested mark.

He definitely took more than 1 mark in a pack like situation. Maybe not technically contested by their definition but they were good solid marks. And he was not poor by AFL standards.

I don’t even know what role he is playing anymore. It’s like he is banned from playing inside forward 50. Maybe with Caddy playing up forward they were trying to play him more around the ball. I thought of was pretty ineffectual in that role, a lot of nothing handballs.

its a bit bleak for his career this kind of move, as its make it or delist when you start throwing them down back.

for every liam jones theres about 50 weids

look at north, brads plan is to anchor a key forward in the 50, and that forward must either take contested marks, or bring it to ground.

this PTSD fella could do it

14 disp and 6 marks is a step in the right direction.
Unfortunately, zero tackles which was a feature of his early season form.
Also, he really should have taken that mark deep in the flank in our D50 when he elected to punch over the line.
Would have been an easy mark for him, and allowed us to clear the ball.

He did enough to be retained in the side for another week…just.

He did not have a great game- serviceable at best imo

Think people are looking at the stat sheet and reacting to him not kicking any goals.

He was playing predominantly wing today, and numerous times was the outlet mark for us- something that we have had been sorely lacking for a while now.

I agree he does need to score moving forward, but he played his role very well today.

Good thing that you are not a selector if that’s how you rate his performance today.

How did you rate his game ?
I haven’t read the posts from today.

I thought it was one of his better games…(imo) he used his aerobic capacity to move up and down the ground and seemed to be in the play a lot more than what we generally see.

He provided a good outlet on quite a few occasions…he didn’t panic when he had the ball, his double fisted spoil was quite possibly more a result of (a) his lack of experience playing in defence and (b) a lack of communication from others around him.

Once again imo, he was better than quite a few others including Perkins, Hind, Langford and Ridley.

Okay, I’ve only seen the game Live, but haven’t seen the replay yet.

A couple of his sideways kicks put team mates under pressure, he had 1 bad fumble which resulted in WC whisking the ball forward, and he really needed to know that only he could mark that ball.
Upon seeing he had zero tackles, i had to mark his game down a fraction.

Still, a more promising game.

Sorry, but that made me laugh.

5 other players had zero tackles (including Perkins who was in the thick of things most of the time he was on the ground)

Another 5 players only had one tackle and a further 5 only had two tackles.

I think it’s a bit harsh to be calling him out on that point.

You mis read my post (or I wasn’t clear enough).

I marked him down based on ALL the points I made, not just the lack of tackles.

So because 5 others laid zero tackles, I guess that’s ok?

Want to see him given a stint in the ruck. Honestly think he’d be ok.

Zero tackles is surprising.

Could’ve sworn watching the game on tv he laid at least a couple.
