#23 Harrison Jones

Poor guy fked his ankle already 3 years ago didnt he?

Good luck Harry. Get well soon. These players are so brave. You could tell he was in pain but wasn’t balling his eyes out and shouting his head off in pain.

I’ve rarely seen a dislocated ankle that doesn’t end up with pins being put in and a fracture higher up .

Have sadly seen quite a few and been next to a few when it’s happened

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the last time we see Jones at AFL level. All the best with the recovery, Harry.

Depending on the breaks he’s suffered he may be lucky to walk again without a limp.

Did he twist the same ankle last week?

My son’s finishing physio this year and immediately said he thought dislocation rather than break (but obviously couldn’t have any certainty).

Dislocation he reckoned would be way better - he reckoned could play later if lots of other stuff didn’t also get wrecked. But he’s still just a student, and hasn’t looked at the injury!

He’s going to come back as a pirate with a wooden leg and kick the ball 90m.

It could be a simple dislocation or straight fracture or it could be a complex dislocation involving both dislocation and some level bone fracture or soft tissue damage which could also vary depending on specifics.

Mechanism looked more dislocate-y, but there could be some damage to surrounding tissue too. The real bad complex ones you usually see with lateral impact forces.

Davethedons son studying physio is good enough for me.

So he’s back next week?

Hope he recovers well. I watched him for a while last night and his team mates are not really passing to him.

Not following in his chefs fathers footsteps?

Even if it’s dislocated he would need a miracle not to have wrecked the ligaments around the joint with the way it happened.

this is a huge set back for him . footy wise ,I think he’s really struggling. opens the door for someone else . hope he does get back and to the potential he seems to have
we have lost both ruckman, probably our number 1 defender now out second mobile mid / tall forward .
how much more bad luck are we going to have this year? previously lost Langford for a month and Caldwell for a month . sheesh!

Poor Harry. I hope it’s not as bad as it looked but with our luck and his ankle history I’m not holding my breath for good news.

LOL

Plus dealing with a coach who is playing him on the wing instead of in a position which plays to his strengths.

That’s debatable.

I don’t think he’s a good enough forward.

So they are playing him to his running strengths. He played well there preseason.

It hasn’t worked out and he may not get another chance to prove himself.

Big Tommy Morris saying that Harry has a dislocated left ankle. Hopeful no other residual damage, as in a fracture in that area.
