There’s a lot of decisions to make end of year, and being a rebuild we need to have a good look at our list and how it fits together. It could be that Jones fits in really well with the young up and coming players. Probably in the same bucket as Perkins/Cox, but no harm in testing him now he knows his career is on the line.
Compare him to Mays transformation. over 1 preseason.
And its apples and Oranges.
Maybe Jones just doesn’t have the frame.
I always used to say he was like Jarrad Waite, and he would fill out as he has aged.
Comparing Harrison Jones to Jarrad Waite reveals a striking similarity in their playing styles as “high-work-rate” athletic talls, though their career trajectories differ greatly.

Most natural forward for Edwards? Based on what? Whenever i watch him he is running around without a defender like his head is cut off.
Not sure how long we can carry someone who has so minimal impact on a game (in Edwards).
Remarkably similar to Jones come to think of it.
Tom Edwards is a natural forward - his instinct, his job as a KPF is exactly that - “running around without a defender.” He knows how to read the play downfield and where and how to lead. Several times in the last two games, on the rare occasions he’s actually been in the forward line, he has given classic KPF leads - which have been ignored entirely by the midfielders.
Bradley is an expert at destroying forwards with his mania for playing them on the wing or half-back flank. He’s done this with Cox, with Jones and even with Langford. Now he’s submitting Edwards to the same treatment. He probably considers this “character building,” or some such paramilitary bullshit concept, which he uses to disguise his own disastrous incompetence at match-day coaching. Time he was given his cards and shown the door out of our Club.
Jones needs to kick a bag in the twos like Edwards did before he is considered for the 1’s.
Our club is all about quantity over quality.
He’s shown some signs sure, especially in his first VFL game, but you’re drawing a pretty long bow there.
He averages 1 mark per game from a lead and 0.8 marks per game i50. Whether he is playing high up the ground or not. He is nowhere near it at the moment and i really hope he can turn it around.
Anyhow, this is the Jones thread so ill leave it there.
This had been happening far to regularly
Even when watching on tv, you can see the players leading in space and instead of taking the first option….we bomb it long
As per Jones he has missed a considerable amount of games. Played for three week in the VFL and out for another three. I would like him to play at least three to four weeks in the VFL showing good form before we even considered him for a seniors game. Would pick McMahon first.
I would like to see a bag of 4 or 5 goals before he gets a run. like Edwards had to.
i.e. Good form
Jones is the most obvious delisting we have this year.
Well Jones, McMahon, Tsatas, Cox, Perkins, Unwin.
Gresham, Setterfield, Guelfi
Yeah, there are probably more.
Still has a year on his contract unfortunately
Oh, FFS!
I would bring him back as a Defender.
He has good closing speed, he is good second efforts on the ground and his asset is his marking when floating from side. I would give him a chance to defend first and then look to chop off when he can intercept.
I think May, McMahon, Edwards and Cox are ahead as the 2nd and 3rd talls
After Ridley out. As defenders all we have is Gerryn and Hayes returning. This is chance to get a block of games as a defender for Jones.
With a trigger for 2 more.
That really depends on how many social media posts he can get in before now and the end of next year
