10 laps around the centre square ought to do it

The question is who else would fail the Baguley sprint test?

Not the McGrath that played ANZAC Day!
Myers would have done him in a sprint that day

what is the cut-off in height for this test?
I can’t think of anyone under 185 that would fail, except for maybe McNeice

Bags is allways up there as one of our fastest in the “tracker”.

More worrying is he losses his feet and half his possessions are just handballs a meter in front of himself before he gets tackled.

I was probably thinking all the way up to 190cm…basically anyone who can’t play a key post…??

Anyway, I’m just going to dig up an old post of mine, and self-quote it, because I am shameless, and it contained some of our players’ draft combine results…I roughly ordered them from fastest to slowest…so the lower names might fail the Baguley test:

Houlahan: 20m Sprint = 3.05secs, Yo-Yo Test = 21.1

Elite at being a ■■■■■■ maybe…

He might make a very good mentor in the two’s when he’s done in the firsts.

I would have the following as most likely delisted

  • Dea, Long :frowning: and Hartley.

McNeice given his age 27. But he just got best on so maybe he stays for Depth?
Baguley would get the option for another year even as depth.
Maybe 1 of Myers/Alwyn/Mynott goes as well at the end of the year.

You’d think long, McNeice (catB) and Dea are almost certainties. Dea through no fault of his own, just as a reflection of our depth in the backline.

Hartley may be in a similar boat to Dea.

Mutch, Clarke likely one of, potentially both.

Baguley kept for depth

Zlarke depends whether we pick up another ruckman.

Houlahan probably gets demoted to the RL

Mynott retain
Jok retain
Draper upgrade a near certainty.

Depending on whether we lose anyone to another club I think we’ll take 3 in the ND, replacing Mutch/Clarke, Hartley, Long. Swapping Draper and Houlahan.

Then take 1/2 replacing Dea and potentially Zlarke too.

No McNeice means we have 3x Cat B slots open. I think we’ll use one or two this year to make up for the lack of youngsters in the previous few years.

Mutch is contracted for 2020

Well, that’d be something un-Essendon like…

Hartley first in the cannon bar none.

Bags is still in the 22. He probably goes, but there’s a question mark there.

I dread going to the footy when I know Hartley is lining up but I thought they might retain him depth.

By the end of the year there’ll be half a dozen KPP who are better than Hartley available, either from State Leagues or as DFAs

He’s a long way back.

He’s quite possibly the dumbest player ever to pull on the black and red.

I swear he practices grabbing a fist full of jumper at home in the mirror.

God I hope you’re right
