#24 Nick Bryan - ACL recovery thru 2025

Bryan didn’t come in until about 10min in. He got schooled in the centre at the first could of attempts by Meek who just bulldozed him away from the drop rather than jumping into him. He did the same vs Grundy last week before Grundy stopped trying to jump and just crossed the line to engage the wrestle immediately. Bryan stood his ground much better after those early contests

There is a lot to be said for dominating centre stoppages. I think we have the capability to this against most teams which will help set up our game. I was worried about Bryan up against Meek but he definitely held his own physically against him. Of all the things we are trying to do I reckon Bryan/Draper as a ruck combo is developing very well. Could be our point of difference seeing as most sides only want to go with one ruckman.

Getting stronger will help, but so will getting fitter.

The more he can run the more marks he will take through the centre and the more we will see his ball use.

I think we will be okay if we decide to let Draper go

Doing some nice things. Go Bryza!

Good 2nd half. When the game slows down he looks at his best. Another thing I like is he can hit a really good short pass in a tight spot. Unusual for a ruck.

Always rated the bloke.
VFL form showed he has plenty to his game. Great effort

Important intercept mark at our half forward when game is on the line. Slowed the play, used the ball.

Lays a free kick winning tackle in their forward pocket to seal the win.

It’s obviously good play, but actually showed a bit of leadership.

LOL
What do reckon they will go with Goldy and Bryan

I think his disposal is elite by ruck standards. Never concerned when he has it. I’ve been big on him for a while and was very annoyed he hasn’t had more senior games.

This guy is seriously good. Great pick by Dodoro

Hope we can keep him. There’ll be a few clubs very interested in him.

Settling in nicely

Can everyone please remind themselves of their posts this week when he stinks it up in a few weeks against a Briggs or Gawn etc?

He’s 23, he still needs muscle and a better tank and will no doubt get monstered a few times this season. The signs tonight are a reminder you need to give young players (let alone young talls) time!

Easily the best game he has played, really worked into it well.

But who will kick all our goals?

The big unit fired up in the second half, love it. He has the skills and footy IQ to make it, just needs to bring the intensity/mongrel consistently. Thankfully Draper is being somewhat productive up forward, so we can roll with two ruckman.

Just tuned in, what happened to the big fella?

Knee injury. Outside of the knee. Hopefully not too bad but I reckon MCL worst case scenario.
