■■■■. Confirmed ACL.
He’s spot on. His development is cooked.
Yes his development has been terrible - as evidenced by his awful form this year before injury…
Not.
We’re with you Nick! Give it hell.
Unadulterated nonsense
Not sure how a player who will have played a grand total of 24 games at the age (upon returning from injury) of 24 and a half is good development.
It’s not uncommon for rucks to take longer to develop then other players. Briggs didn’t play more then 12 games in a season until he was 24, Meek and Xerri were 25, Cameron was 26. Cameron just played his 100th game at 29 and the rest haven’t played more then 61.
Absolutely terrible development.
How could they only play Nick in the last 5 games of 2024 when he struggled to play 4 quarters, and was only 22.
Should have left it at that Alex
WTAF has retrospectively factoring in an ACL got to do with his development?
Skinny project ruck with strong glimpses of talent but struggling with matching mature rucks for physicality develops in VFL, with periodic tastes of firsts selection. Establishes as starting ruck at 23. Pretty good trajectory.
Oh having an ACL injury doesn’t impact his development? Is that what you’re saying?
It’s got zero to do with the club’s management of his development.
Doing his ACL doesn’t, the fact he will only have played a handful of games nearing the age of 25 is
… because of his ACL… otherwise he’d equal the AfL career average games for all draftees, this time next yr.
Which isn’t a great assessment.
Gutted to hear the news of his ACL injury.
Wishing all the best with his recovery.
If rucks take longer to come on, on average, wouldn’t that be a good omen? It’s all hypothetical obviously but I’d like to see what the experience curve looks like for “good” current AFL rucks, and cba looking myself haha
The ACL is terrible luck and a tragedy for Bryan, EFC, and anyone associated with them.
As a complete aside, EFC has completely screwed the pooch in giving Bryan sufficient AFL exposure to date. He’s dominated VFL for over three years. He should have far more than 20 odd games.
At the start of next year he will have played 8 more games then Meek had at the same age. 22 more then Cameron, 12 more then Sweet, 3 more then ROB, 7 more then McInerney. He hasn’t played a particularly low number of games, not many rucks are good to go straight after they are drafted.
Still should have been played ahead of Goldstein last year.
