#24 Nick Bryan - ACL recovery thru 2025

I wonder if we tried to get Chol.
Makes you laugh.
He kicks nine goals in four games and they make him a sub, and he still kicks a goal.

They didn’t make Chol the sub.

He played the first three quarters and got 4 disposals before being subbed in the final term.

He’s been decent for the Suns though on the whole. Jones and Stringer not being on the park has magnified our tall forward issues too.

I was going to say we’ll get him when they refuse to play him for no reason like Wright, then I remembered he’s the same age as Wright, so I guess not.

That’s why he comes in as the back up ruck but gives us some height in the forward line. At least he can kick straight too if he does get a shot at goal.

He’s kicked one goal in his VFL career.

This 100%

The remainder of the season should be an exercise in rotating our under 23 players to ensure we are full satisfied with their potential by the end of the year. Why, for example, did we recruit a 25 year old McDonagh and not playing him Immediately? Voss, Lord, Bryan…even Hird, Brand and Eyre should all be given three or four games this year….minimum

He always plays ruck though doesn’t he? I should clarify i was referring to him being a lovely kick of the football which would hopefully translate to in front of the big sticks.

He’s often shared ruck duties with either Phillips, Draper, and this year McBride. Just doesn’t get near it as a forward.

Ahhh.
I mean, it’s not like I actually watch Gold Coast.
Still, though.

He was a free agent last year.
Youngest ever (picked up).
We didn’t need him because we were stacked with talls.
Has played back as well. Anyhoo.

Great to see him make the squad.

Bryan is going to massively surprise many to the upside.

He needs to develop his size a bit, but his agility and skills, and tap work age sublime.
His kicking is extremely good for a bloke of his size. Could easily be one of the best kicks in the team. He is starting to take good pack marks in the 2s so the rumours about him not contest marking are utter fake news.

I can this guy being special.

Must remain in the side for the full year.
I would like to see him play ruck CHB like Ryder did and drifting down to be a forward target. With Baldwin Wright and Stringer in the side we don’t need him to be that target across the forward line. But he does need to cut off that easy cheap second kick out of our defensive zone we simply can’t stop atm.

We need defenders as much perhaps more than forwards. That said I expect with his fitness and agility and footballer nous he can play all 3 roles. That’s something I’d like to see a giant utility like Ryder. A true weapon.

He’s 100% playing.

Grundy is one of the fittest rucks in the comp. Reckon we will let Draper go solo on big ground?

BIG FARKING BRYZZZZAAAA!!!

I have been waiting for the day that Bryan and Draper would play together and that day may finally be here.

Was really hoping it would be under better circumstances.

He will smash it!!

Never thought I’d see the day the Dons had so much mullet action going on.

Imagine if Cox and Perks didn’t cut their hair during the off season and Ham was still in.

All of the hair, glorious hair.

Agree, hopefully it’s the beginning of a great partnership.

For a bit of background

44 hitouts 12 touches vs 21 hitouts 20 touches 2 goals

And

40 hitouts 15 touches vs 15 hitouts 12 touches AND 12 hitouts 10 touches

Both against former AFL listed ruckmen
