#25 Jake Stringer (Part 1)

I doubt that, and love Jakey when he’s up and about, but sick of the notion of players effectively holding the club ransom. If there’s any truth to it, it’s one of the many root causes of why we’ve become a soft club. The same kind of tail wagging the dog attitude that has half the players playing one game plan and half playing another.

Don’t know if it’s true but who knows.

I fear we’ve seen the best of Jake already… Bit of a tragedy because he’s such an explosive player when he’s in the mood and fit.

He hasn’t fired a single shot in any of the 5 games he’s played this year. A shadow of last years Jake.

I think he has OP and that’s contributing to him putting on weight.

He looks cooked. He’s not young. Could end up like Tippa very quickly

One of the very few criticisms I hear from my Hawk fans on Clarko is that he trusted his veterans too much.

He looked pretty good on Anzac Day and also against the Dees.

On last nights pathetic effort, he won’t be missed.

he can’t move

its a disgrace we picked him, anyone with eyes can see he isn’t fit. zero midfield time, and just left him forward to be completely ineffective. my guess is he has OP - he certainly moves like it.

I’m surprised Rutten gave him a clip post game in just first game back

I reckon @CJohns was spot on with his theory.

Heavily performance based contract. Tells them to play him if he is even remotely able or he walks.

OH MY

Probably also why Truck gave him a clip in the presser.

Jake had a poor game, so farking what !

He was still better than Cutler, Heppell and Kelly. I would back him to play better next week over the other three.

Even tho he got caught a few times at least he was trying to start something

Stinger is a hard bloke to bring down

where exactly is he gonna go now that he’s signed? that’s a pretty wild theory

Yep. He looked proppy when he was trying to jog.

Absolutely should not have played.

Really difficult to tell with Stringer, as he always looks ‘proppy’.

Main thing he didn’t get injured see how he goes next week

agree, he does. but it was evident last night the way he moved

and literally zero midfield time. That would require him bursting away from packs, which he was the best in the game at it for half a season last year. It furthers to the theory the groin is still severely impacting him, no power in those legs at all

Jake’s gait makes it look like he’s constantly injured. Even when he was fully fit he had a very ugly, almost shuffle running style. Makes it hard to determine with the naked eye if he’s carrying something.

Fwiw I think he is carrying something and throw in the fact he’s not fit - not really conducive to performing at a high level.

Hes just a player who isnt really 100% invested in getting the best out of himself. He obtained premiership success at a young age, had kids at a young age and how has another partner with whom he has mutiple kids. I just think he’s got a broad perspective on life and probably doesnt realy mind how his career pans out from here. Thats my $0.02.
