#25 Jake Stringer (Part 1)

Should also be pointed out the tackler is Zac Fisher, who’s a bit of a weiner by AFL player standards.

Hes contracted until end of 2024…so that means we’ll get another 8 more decent games out of him

to think that we probably could have conned a club into giving us a top 10-12 pick for him last trade period

@Finding_Nino thoughts on THE STRINGS?

He had never played well first game back had he?

Last season kicked 4 first game back from an interrupted pre-season v St. Kilda. But he was made to play 2 VFL games to get some match fitness prior to a senior return. Clearly it worked, so why have we departed from that?

I’m not even mad at Stringer.

He clearly shouldn’t have played.

Incompetent by the club. How many times have we thrown this guy out underdone.

Will probably do another soft tissue injury within the next couple of weeks.

Should of backed the training Monday session with Jake pulling out with back stiffness. He didn’t look right to play tonight… again

Well truck didnt give him an out tonight. Said his game was poor and he would have been right to play last week if there was a game.

Really putting it on Jake.

I didn’t see him attend one centre bounce. So he’s obviously not fit enough to play anywhere other than a forward pocket. I think he’s just cooked. Sometimes the end comes quickly.

That smacks of a bloke looking to apportion blame everywhere bar himself

Stevie wonder could see that Jake didn’t look fit tonight. If Rutten, murphy and anyone else associated with the fitness and medical teams thought he was, then I’m stumped

If you take things on face value, which admittedly is dangerous with us, then 5 weeks is plenty of time to recover and prepare for a return to sport for what was by all reports a regulation hamstring strain.

Most other players in the competition would be absolutely fine to hit the ground running and look basically back to normal tonight.

There is either something more going on (like OP, back issues etc) or he just had a stinker.

Or he is just half assed as a professional athlete and not doing the little things you need to do to prepare at this level and it gets exposed.

Imagine if we had clarkson, Voss, hinkey, longmire etc… as a coach…they would have farked him off back to the twos to find form. Not “we’ll back our boys rutten thou”

@CJohns mentioned something on his Patreon show, tonight, that was very interesting.

Stringer’s contract is heavily incentives based. Very much.

Maybe he is telling them that they play him if he is able, or he’ll leave.

Ham could have stuck a tackle on Jakey last night.

Isn’t OP a younger mans issue? Getting OP at Stringas age would be a rare thing IMO….its a growth thing isn’t it?

We never learn with this bloke.

Pay him out and fk him off
