Been a fan since day one though his first few games weren’t great. In terms of Brad Scott sticking by his players regardless of form it’s actually worked out well for Prior and he’s certainly grown and developed.
Worst case he’s a decent depth player and was one at Brisbane. Hopefully he sticks around longer and can help the club transition back to where we want to be.
If it’s true we are gonna lose some senior players end of the year then keeping guys like Jaxon become important.

I hate how all events these days are reported in the days leading up to the announcement. Can’t a club just announce when a contact is signed/extended as the breaking news for once? Why does Cal Twomey need to say "Prior has commenced talks on a one-year extension” the day before.
Maybe that’s just footy these days.

Anyway good to have prior for another year. He’s the lowest handicap golfer on the list so good for our summer golf pennant team. Just needs to work on his deficiencies a touch more (Obviously I mean his chipping and pitching, not his AFL ability) and I think he’ll get to scratch pretty easily

He’s earned the 1 year.
He was deplorable last year but the last few weeks have been very serviceable. Still has his faults but has a crack.
I never thought a player would make me wish we had Jake Kelly back but he did last year but this year I have no such dark thoughts.
We must have been watching different matches. Prior was fine last year. A bit rough and ready, certainly, but he always had a crack - and he tackled so hard that he was almost the only player in the team who made opposition players hear footsteps.

That’s written like it is a good thing.
This team as a whole is playing so badly, its hard to know who of the marginal players to get rid of first.
He is durable, so unlike the ones that take 3 games to get back in form then are injured for 6 weeks and so spooked they go down hill, a bird on the field is better than one in the rehab group. He is an upgrade on Laverde in that respect.
He is tough, unlike many of our players he doesnt take nonsense from oppo players.
He is a good mark for his height.
If we are going to win a flag, he wont be part of it, but he might help us get there as we get games into some promising young players we already have.

He has come a long way since this point lol
He is living proof on how far your attitude can take you on the footy field. Im sure many of us had written him off early days.
The dude is hardworking, has genuine strut, is mouthy, has courage, stands up for team mates and keeps his head up when he makes an error or the ■■■■ is completely hitting the fan teamwise.
All this despite a fairly limited skillset makes him a lock in the 18. Will be great with class around him.

At this point, all our players should be on 1 year deals. It’s rare that we get more than 1 good year our of a player.

For mine, he’s been good and pretty reliable. And I’d have given him 2 years last year when his contract came up.

He deserves a year. Would have gone to 2 years if other clubs had shown interest, but right now 1 year is a good decision.
