He’s been very good. I still can’t work out if it’s all his teammates getting bad therefore he looks great(just one player out there not devoid of confidence or a clue)
Or he’s just settling more into the role and maybe flourishing a little more.

Well earned but I would have thought most fringe players would be held off until a coach is appointed

I’ve heard he’s been excellent with welcoming past players into the club aswell.
Although it does help, when his old man played with most of the 93 and 2000 Premiership players.
So he’s been playing an unofficial leadership role.

Any one on one year deals are fringe players in that if something better comes along they are replaced quickly
Club never waits they appease players
He gives it all. Competes hard its all u ask

I would call 80% of our players fringe players. Particularly those that play every game.

I would happily keep players like Prior that are tough and aggressive, over players like our pissant captain, who ■■■■■ the bed whenever there is pressure.

Are we waiting on the new coach for a lot of the players that are still out of contract? Or does this signing indicate that these decisions are independent of who comes in?
If we had decent key defenders he would be more than ok

No brainer signing. One of the few players you know with some confidence what you’re gonna get most weeks. Doesn’t shirk a contest. Seems driven to push this group forward and is still young enough where likely to be playing when we come through the other side of this.

He tries way too hard IMO, seems like he wants to beat his man and win games.
A contract extension for next year might be signalling a new path for Essendon where other players might play this way?
