#26 Archer May (kick more than two goals)

And before the draft, Pendlebury said he didn’t care who drafted him, as long as it wasn’t5 Collingwood.

Ive never met him, and only ever really saw his playing time as a kid and on vfl tapes and that.

He was a thug on the field, but for the most part he seemed like a person who, most of the time wouldn’t start stuff (before people jump on me yes there’s enough examples where he did i get it) but wouldn’t back down, and if someone got away with something one game, would square up the next time they played.

even the line in the sand game, his message seemed to be, you may not be as talented as the opposiiton, but don’t ever let them disrespect you or get comfortable doing that, esp physically, which at the time essendon was.

He seems like someone you’d definitely want in your corner when ■■■■ hits the fan.

He genuinely feared Roger Merrett, then again everyone did.

Any chance we might see May this year at all? Or more than likely 2026, depending on form in the vfl?

Very funny. LOL

I would say yes. If they want to persist with The current role of 2MP, which I think is good for us and good for him. He needs to get more of the ball, and will have less opponents jumping on him than when working from the square, but can still kick 2 a game from the arc.

would need an injury to Wright.
and good VfL form behind him.

They are regulars there with my mate

Dermie definitely plays up the hate of Essendon. It’s an act. My first inclining of that back in the day was how much he loved for Mark Johnson.

Reckon he really loved the competition and rivalry back in the day and he’d love nothing more than both the Hawks and Bombers at the top of the ladder again.

Apparently he had to cancel his tattooist’s appointments when we took him.

Collingwood had promised they’d take him, and that of course, needs a lot of visits for the full sleeves.

I want to see in 2025 if our forward line can function with 3 tall forwards ie Caddy, May & 2MP as 2nd ruck.

Best to try this whilst Langford is out eg

Kako, Gresham & Guelfi.
May, 2MP, Caddy

As others have posted, need to give Davey another run as well.

No ■■■■, but does this bloke have the best physique at the club already.

He’s being bandied about as a probable starter by some on the fark carlton thread, unless we have another tall May, but he wouldn’t even have a locker yet would he?

It would be a fair effort to come in and play especially without at least a vfl game under his belt.
I could see McMahon being a cheeky chance he was pretty impressive on the weekend kicking 2.2 and set up a nice one for Huss

May will embarrass guys like Jones, Cox and some of our other skinny twigs. Jones in particular. IMO Jones has never really got himself into the right condition to make it as an AFL player. Archie will lift the standards

And he will do it fast, the guys primed for making an impact.

Give him 3 sessions this week, see how he goes working in tandem with Caddy, inside 50, use 2MP up the ground linking coming out of defence and kicking for goal from around the arc.
If he looks good, pick him. ( play the kids)
It will give the likes of Weitering nightmares.

Just get one to play out of the left pocket and the other out of the right
