Good to see we’re experimenting with positions. ![]()
Well, that’ll take care of the goes missing part of his game. Won’t see any lack of action playing in an Essendon backline at VFL or AFL level.
Archer finding the going tough at the level, but its early days. Keep on selecting him and get games into him, a full preseason and pick him in round 1 2026. He together with Caddy are the great hopes of the 2026 campaign, if we can improve connection and quality if I50 entries.
Scored a goal from half a game up forward. Was our only key forward to score a goal today. Definitely plenty to work with.
He is very competitive. Doesn’t often lose contests.
Just needs to get a contested marking game going.
I really hope his injury isn’t serious
Needs to develop more agility. At times, he’s like the Queen mary.
I was expecting him to be more mobile from his writeups.
I just dont see it. Doesn’t have good footy iq and just seems so … slow
I don’t think he’ll make it as a pure key forward.
But he looks ok in the few ruck contests I’ve seen him in. If he develops those skills more and can be the 2nd ruck / forward… I see a spot for him.
If we could somehow merge May and McMahon into a single forward, we’d probably have exactly what we need.
Maymahon?
McMay?
Throw in 2MP’s … extra few centimetres.
Interesting. It’s been his ability to hold his position and pluck a grab that I think has been his most promising sign so far. I think if our midfield ever knows where it’s meant to deliver the footy, and if the forwards know that the mids finally know, then he could be a genuine threat inside 50 as the permanent key forward.
I like May, I think ceiling wise he has heaps to go.
He’s been in an AFL system 2 months, I think he’s showed great signs.
With his physique this guy isn’t scared of the work, a pre season of running and improving that agility will do wonders.
I mean he’s playing in this gross side who have no idea how to get it to the forwards.
I’m bullish.
Took some good marks tonight. Shame that his kicking seems to vary between 65m straight bombs and 35m shanks. Hopefully his injury isn’t serious.
Need to remember he’s never had an AFL preseason and he works hard by all reports so he might make a big leap and surprise
He really does move like Cale hooker
If he becomes half as good as Voss we’ve got one…
