He makes the jones contract extension look like Rosas first big mistake.

We have had many Essendon players kick 5 or 6 in their early games over the yers and never been seen again. If both May and Voss were in this years draft May would be taken well before Voss. Voss is the poster boy od the plodders association.

I was kidding, just a crack at another howler from us, and then having to use a precious mid season slot on a project forward to replace him. But if asked to answer seriously, Voss is the better of the two at this point, no question.

I’m really baffled at people wanting to write this guy off already. He’s a tall who has been in the AFL system all of 5 mins. In that time he’s played a handful of games for a basketball case of a team and club. And he has managed to show some glimpses. Were people expecting him to do what Logan Morris does.

Maybe e doesn’t make it, most don’t, but give the kid a chance

David Burke was a ruckman and forward who came from Horsham.

He kicked five goals in his debut game in late 1980 and played two more games that year, but he could not go on with it and languished in the Reserves until early 1982. He was also hampered by a serious ankle injury.

Ok, so the list so far has one guy from 45 years ago.

Actually forward craft is what worries me most about caddy. He has fantastic physical attributes, good disposal and has excellent vision in confined spaces, however, he needs to develop his forward craft.

Comparing a teenager with a bloke who has been in the system for a couple of years doesn’t seem fair. Voss has had preseasons and more opportunities than May.

Who’s the teenager?
May is only a year (14 months) younger than Voss.

Obviously less time in the system, but weren’t you the one saying he’s already better?
Now it’s not fair?

Regardless, have high hopes for May, hope he continues to improve.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up in the middle. He has the tank.

Cummings won a Coleman medal, Reimers was in his fourth season, and Carlisle was in his fifth season and was eventually traded for a top 5 pick.

Plain probably fits the bill, but I can’t remember how early into his career he kicked 7.

Should have had a bigger career, do not sure he lived an AFL lifestyle at the time, but not sure?

Looking at his stats, he was good at kicking goals against poor opposition. Looking at the 93 flag side I couldn’t see anyone who Id have selected him over, so I’d say “good, one dimensional small forward who was fringe at best but feasted in a few poor sides at times”

I don’t see it with this guy.

I still think we’re very much going to need to recruit a second tall to partner with Caddy. Maybe Schubert with one of our first picks.
