He is a monster of a unit.
We really only need him to be a slightly better than an average player for it to be a good pick up.
Pair him with Caddy and if he can eventually kick 35 goals a year we have our forwards locked in for the next 10 years.

Sounds like he was a pies fanatic, however the club did meet with him pre-draft and still selected him. Maybe like most young players, he was just grateful for an opportunity. Steele Sidebottom was a mad bomber before the pies selected him so…touche!
He has just realised his AFL dream. He gets to move home. He will be fine.
Who knows who he supported? I am simply saying, Collingwood wanted him and he was most likely going their based upon their promise. Essendon sweep the carpet from under them so I’m not sure he would be super excited.

Not sure about that necessarily for now. He may grow to like us when he gets there.
This feels like a simple best available pick for me.
He had been talked up as one of the standouts from this draft (alongside McCarthy) and it fell in our favour that those ahead of us needed to address other needs. Given we were taking 4 picks, we could deal with our needs later.
As a 20 y/o key forward, he’d only be scratching the surface on what he can do. And uprooting his life and moving to Perth to give himself an opportunity shows some real grit.
Would be a huge bonus if he could come on as a long term option for us.
