Plum brandy?
I cannot fathom anyone thinking another year for Cale would be a good idea.
Have some respect for players like Cale please.
I have nothing but respect for Cale.
What has “respect” got to do with it ? Cale, despite his large salary, was not performing — he hasn’t been performing for several weeks — the usual consequence for a player in that situation is to be dropped. Cale was dropped. End of story.
Surely you can see his body is battered and trying his heart out
How many goals has he kicked this year with a “broken” body?
We did not say Cox etc was dropped so why not just say “managed” for Cale?
Another poster already mentioned it but what does the word “managed” matter unless he really is managed. Don’t need to bulcrap the supporters or him by putting up a word. He knows the reason he is out and thats all that matters.
im glad it says he was omitted. shows a ruthless side that hasnt existed before. doesnt matter what you have done in the past, its what you are doing lately.
I would say Hooker and Zaha will be guarantee starters for the last round of the year
Risky approach for a Grand Final.

It sounds like this is a bigger issue for you than it would be for Hooker.
If Tim Watson believes Cale is getting another year then I would give that a lot of merit. He knew Joe was going to Brisbane before anyone else. He’d still have very strong connections at the club. Better than a Tom Browne.
It’s no coincidence that cales form slump has also seen the team lose form. At his best he’s kicking 2 or 3 and getting to more contests and getting the ball to ground. I would love to see him try for one more year 30 to 40 goal players nothing to sneeze at. I think it’s the right move to drop him in the form he was in although he was a bit better last week. He’s lost the surprise pop up value. Opposition teams started to work a bit harder to keep him from getting to the ball and he didn’t seem to find a way around it. He I also think we lacked the maturity in our forward line to be able to get players to block for him and help him out like you often see with the better teams.
The peak time was when we had Harry and 2mp in there playing well giving the opposition something else to cover.
Yeah it’s another classic oddity that people aren’t linking Harry’s absence with Cale’s shortcomings being more exposed.
Nor saying that’s totally responsible for the drop in form, but it certainly doesn’t help.
Missing an aerobic leading tall from the mix leaves a lot of spot fill - literally.
Id be keener to try francis forward today. I reckon that could be harder for their defence.stewart wasnt the greatest set shot for goal when he played There previously if my memory serves me right
I have no issue with another year, he has played well and his drop off can be easily explained by a long season and old body. He should have had regular rest periods this year, but he is also a player who resides to admit he needs a break or is injured enough to not play.
We are light on for KPFs who are good. So if Wright or Jones goes down we are in trouble.
Thus on a small contract for 10-12 games as a backup is a worthy last year for Cale.
As good as he has been this year, and as much as he has redeemed himself from my view perspective. I’m still ■■■■■■ at his selfish playing injured in the west coast final.
Not so sure about that
I hope it does not bother Cale at all but others I speak to not on this site get the point

Hooker was average in the Crows, Cats and Dees game too though.
The point is that we leave too much to too few
Hooker and Tippa should have been rested at some point
Without them competing our forward line is hopeless as we saw last week- 1 goal after half time. This is a no brainer
