#26 Cale "Thank You Mr" Hooker - rejects a brown paper bag from FCFC

Yep. This.

Or just keep it simple and offer him a coaching job in the vfl if he wants it

Everyone knows the only people who can coach young players are old players. Who else is going to do it? The coaches?

Wouldn’t be against giving him a 1 year extension but only as an insurance policy, not in the best 22 but to only play if someone goes down or against a bottom side

Watched the replay last night, and l am not convinced Francis did drop off. He played a bit further up the ground, and while he was quieter in the second half, the Dogs put more time and effort into lessening his effect. This allowed 2MP to get off the leash. Francis also kicked the pass to 2MP for his sixth goal.

That mobility he displayed is something that Hooker is no longer capable of. I mentioned in another thread that 2MP’s haul could spell the end of Hooker. Francis played with more energy and purpose than he has shown for a while, and despite his lack of experience in the position/role, looked quite composed and accomplished.

Has he died? What am I missing here.

Sadly I think it’s time

give him a coaching/development role then, or sign him to the VFL side?

there is absolutely no way he should get another contract. it would be a huge mistake

I’d ■■■■■■■ love to see him in a winning final.

Gonna have to be this year. I’m a big Hooker fan, but I think it’s a miracle if he gets up for another preseason let alone lasts into nexts finals campaign if we were to have one. I don’t see how he fits into our foward line atm unless theres an injury to Wright.

Yes but for the 4th year in a row, he’s been done by about round 16.

How long can you carry these blokes, and cross your fingers next year will be different?

Win the premiership this year and he can climb to the top of the MCG and beat his chest like King Kong.

I know. I’m already emotional thinking of his return. He’s been a bloody beauty.

Acceptance is hard, doubt he will return, and yes he has been a bloody beauty.

I really worry he’ll be that guy that cracks the ■■■■■ when the club makes the extremely obvious decision, TBH.

I don’t, he’s a team first guy.

I guess signing him as a VFL player and a development coach would be a reasonable compromise.

But we also need to find another mature key-forward from somewhere, because while we have some promising kids, the cupboard is fairly bare.
