How can you lump these 2 together in terms of ball use ?
Wow
Sure, he had one very, VERY bad kick selection today.
Had to turn back boundary side on that one.
Not his best game today, but not Rd.3 level bad.

He was in the top 20 (for the season) in the coaches votes after Anzac Day.
People in here need to take a breath occasionally.
Very few (if any) players play at, or near, their best week in week out.
The trouble in here is that there always needs to be scapegoats after any lossā¦Redman is in danger of becoming one of them because people donāt seem to be able to look at a body of workā¦just the last bit of it.
yeh not sure I or anyone else has really come close to āscapegoatingā him though.
sometimes making a slightly critical observation of a player doesnāt actually mean you are piling on the player or blaming the loss on them.
Lost without your LAV
just like most of our players. the difference between his best and worst is huge
Retweet from 20 days ago.
Certainly a recurring issue.
I can only assume you mean the recurring issue of ā ā ā ā posting the instant a player makes a single error
Watch some bloody football, the absolute best of the best have off days and even on good days can still make an error jfc people need to be realistic
Love Redman as a player 95% of the time.
Itās just a real head scratcher that he has some unbelievable brain fades in that other 5% of his work.
This ought to be plastered in large font on the banner for Blitz. As the coach said in his post match presser āAFL is a game of mistakesā. I heard Luke Hodge say heād take 75% efficiency any day.
May have been a little harsh on the ā ā ā ā posting comment but it really annoys me
I donāt think itās unreasonable to comment on his mistakes, everyone knows he does more good than bad, just his bad mistakes are really bad, they make other mistakes look not bad.
Mate if weāre excusing the most basic of mistakes which end up in a goal each time then weāre never going to improve.
Iām all for players making mistakes when taking on the game or biting off a tough kick through the corridor but these are:
simple kicks from a mark/free kick going straight down the throat of opponents as if he didnāt see them there.
50m penalties.
that handball incident with ward.
Redman has had a great start but as I said we arenāt going to improve as a team til we cut out these elementary mistakes. I reckon heās had about 8-10 end up in an opposition goal this year.
So you reckon he is running at more than one goal scoring mistake a week. No way.
8-10ā¦really ?
While this is true - we do need to improve the basic mistakes to become a more consistent team, the continual calling out of mistakes is like the guy who only ever leaves negative reviews.
Some posters have it in for certain players and canāt wait to jump on here after a bad error or game to reinforce their view and it just becomes so tiresome after a while.
Being that AFL team average is about 1 per game, Iād say old mateās assertion is EXTREMELY unlikely.
Off the top of my head I can name a fewā¦
Coming out of defence punt road end 2nd quarter he missed a teammate but a fair way. Donāt actually think this resulted in a goal coz hawks are that bad.
1 verse Gold Coast
4 verse st kilda
1 verse GWS
1 verse Geelong.
I like Mason and hope he re-signs but we really canāt be making these mistakes coming out of defence.
It (him and others) cost us the game against st kilda. I think 4 of their 5 goals in the last quarter came from turnover kicks in our defensive half and that was the game.
Heās kicked for goals, so his net is -4 using your logic.
Id only count the howlers.
I count 3 for the year from memory that i consider ābrain fadesāā¦
the 50m penalty to Caminiti (throwing ball at him too hard)
the telegraphed hb that Ward picked off.
the inexplicable kick across goals to no one against Geelong.
I dont count the risky kicks coming out of our D50 against the Saints in the last qtr, as we were trying to win the game and chip, chip doesnt do it.
Mason will miss some targets as we want him taking some risks with ball in hand.
I may have missed a " howler" over the season.
My (vague) memory is he had two pretty big howlers versus the Saints. I agree that when taking the game on you get more leeway, but youāve still got to keep it in the ballpark.
That said, Iād say heās had 4-5 weeks at AA level, and 2 very poor games.
