#27 - Mason Redman - till end 2028

I hope it wasn’t a slight knock to the calf, could be season ending.

3 week calf, was it not first reported as a hamstring?

I think it was reported as low grade calf.

I could have sworn I read low grade hammy

Regardless, hopefully means continued opportunity for young blokes

Yeah I can’t remember where I saw that. I definitely did.

Maybe an article or something.

Someone posted an injury list from last season’s where he was out with a hammy

I think Facebook said it was a hammy.

There’s an edit history so I’m guessing they adjusted it to say calf

Edit - yep, someone posted it at the time. They originally said hammy.

Materially makes no difference but at least its not just me losing the plot

We extended all those guy by so much because our list was in such a ■■■■ position, we had nothing coming through. We kinda had no choice, under the Dodoro way of thinking.

We have played guys, found out those who can play a role, and now guys like Redman on bigish long term deals are having kids come up and show they can take their spot. Which means not only are they under pressure, but we will find out about their level of fight to get better as they will ask for trades when the feel their spot is legit up for grabs.

Redman is one I’m expecting to get more serious and fight to hold his spot and be a leader. Other I think we will see jump shot to extend their career.

we should all be over the moon that our HPD/medical unit has elevated their game to a level where they can distinguish a calf from a hammy

we almost could have had 4 of them.

Redman, D’Ambrosio, Ryan played in our VFL side and we were apparently into Bice in last years draft didn’t expect he would go so early.

Trade to Port when Bergman goes

Do you think it would be that easy

Everybody “Lets trade this player and that player” like its farking easy that clubs will take him lols

No club will want our inury prone senior players like Parish who have big contracts attached to them.

Remember the ■■■■ storm Pies went through by trying to get rid of Grundy.

That’s what will happen if we force players under contract to leave could also have a ripple effect on the rest of the playing group making them upset on how their team mate is treated

This is like that move where brad Pitt trades all the players the coach likes

You are right, I do think it’s really important that we try our best to move Redders in though.
We are at the point now where we absolutely need to just pump games into younger players who play the same position as him, and to be honest for the most part I think he has been really poor this year.

We can ask him the question but if guys like Redman say they have no intrest in a move and are very happy at Essendon its makes it very tough.

Nope but I think our club doesn’t try hard enough with risk of losing an average senior player

Seriously? ■■■■ storm? Ripple effect? Less than 12 months after the pies traded out Grundy they finished top of the ladder and won the ■■■■■■■ flag.

You are right, and that’s how farked this club is gifting long term contracts to players whom they think are taking us to a flag.

That’s why Brad ain’t the man

Let’s go of Massimo to keep Heppell

Let’s go of Voss out B&F forward in VFL over Jones

I know Voss isn’t the complete answer but he is serviceable as a third tall and he has muscle which our weak pathetic players don’t have.

This rebuild should have commenced end of 2023 after Brad had 12-14 mo ths of viewing our list. He didn’t he stuck fat with same tripe senior players and some seniors who retired the following year over youth.

Reality is he would still be doing this if it wasn’t for our injuries to these senior players.

None of them are taking us to the promise land, Merrett included…he is in a difficult position, only leader we have at our club, if he wasn’t captain he would of marched.
