A teenage co worker of mine who sometimes gets to train with the stingrays said that Ned is the best player he’s ever played with and one of the smartest.
The guy is a Melbourne supporter so we’ve had some conversations about Hibberd and Melksham.
Anyways really excited for the lad after hearing that and can’t wait to see him play

At the start of his career, Richard Osborne’s surname was pronounced the correct way (rhymes with Melbourne) but by the time he retired all the commentators pronounced it the American way (OzBORRN).

Yes. Melbin ban bun,. but I’d wager that is a standard British contraction of what was actually originally pronounced Melborn.
Also, according to the Cambridge Dictionary, the way Americans pronounce it is the same, … but they would refer to the Educated ones, … and definitely not red necked Southerners.
