As poor as people believe Hobbs, Davey, Menzie played.
They will be better for the experience of playing in front of the biggest crowd during the home and away season in years

If Essendon was playing in a final would likely be 90,000 if against a melbourne team.

To think that was his 8th game is amazing really. He works up the wings really well and gets involved in the tough stuff and is good at getting the ball out. When near the goals though he seems uncertain what to do instead of just banging it through. He looks the goods to me. Just needs to back himself more which will come with confidence.

Please make it stop. This kid takes forever to make a decision. I could see how hed be a good reserves footballer, but he is too fking slow to play at senior level.

Agree. You can almost see the cogs turning over: Will l, won’t l?

He does play to his strengths, which is quick movement and playing on instinct. He does it better at VFL but when he goes up to AFL you can see he is trying to play to the team plan and he can’t do it.

It’s like watching Cahill in a different number. Snelling against his former club would have been handy today. It’s not a no for him as yet, it’s a not now. Or this year.

He’s just another VFL standard player who isn’t up to AFL level.

He’s young enough in time he might get there but probably not.

Delisted at season end most likely.

The only way this bloke prolongs his AFL career after this year is with Tasmania in 5 years.

I’d be bringing Snelling in for Menzie, who needs some easy ball in the VFL. Leave Walla in the side even his 4 good touches a game is better than most atm

I don’t think he’s going to make it. Late last year I saw a player who seemed to find the ball. I hope I’m wrong, he doesn’t look like he’s quite got it. Another battler who will do something here and there… A poor finisher to date doesn’t help him. Hope I’m wrong, nothing wrong with spending this year seeing what he can become.

Yep, this kid is out of his depth.

I’ve noticed he cannot take a mark on his hands out in front…always goes for the spinning chest mark. There were a couple of occasions last night he could have had more impact if he just took it out in front.

He’s nothing special, in that he doesn’t show any real traits that make you look at him and think he could be good. Tres ordinary.

Not good enough. Delist

Had a good taste of AFL level now time to head back to VFL, still a kid and worth persisting with imo, only 20.

There’s enough there to persist with, and he’s doing a lot right without the ball and as part of the team defence.

But I’m starting to think the fact he’s offering next to nothing with the ball and in contests is outweighing the good so I’d give him a spell in the twos.

Twenty years old and 10 games. Calls to delist him are ■■■■■■■ ridiculous. He didn’t have a good game last night, and a bit of time in the VFL might be good for him. But he’s shown a few good things and is averaging a goal a game this season. We had several vastly more experienced players who stunk it up last night, they’re the guys who deserve a whack, not kids who have barely set foot an on an AFL field.
