Some impressive bona fides in those write ups. Reads as having quite a high ceiling, which l hope he exceeds.
Interesting too that he is noted to have good speed off the mark which is known to be a weakness of Dean who was exposed by quick leading forwards. Was a bit bewildered when the name was called out but the more you read of his strengths I can see why the club would have gone there. High footy IQ is a another noted strength of Max that we could certainly use more of.

Is he, dare I say, similar in game style off half back to Josh Weddle?
You can see that we have added an explosive run and dare rebound by selecting Max. I wasnt initially happy with selecting him when there were decent small forwards like Byrne or gun winger like LeRay still on the board, but given Max’s style of play I can see the logic. He adds pace and dare off HB when rebounding.

There is number of Collingwood fan videos about Max being ideal to be drafted by them to replace Howe. 
I actually like this kid. He has speed and can jump and mark, and reads the kick well to intercept.
Funnily enough he reminds me of a Collingwood player… Hoskin-Elliot.

It is worth noting that Max has a very late birthday (turned 18 last week). I think that makes a bigger difference with the taller players.
