#3 Darcy "Darcy Parish" Parish - Shiel can play forward pocket instead

How do you rig it so that Mills has such a good rookie year ? It's got me stumped.

DRUGS

Hope he enjoys his holiday with shotgun mathieson.
Speaking of Rhys, he was at the Essendon huddle yesterday at 1/4 time.
Sounds like we need a new thread…

Good mates with Nash Holmes. Or Hash Nolmes, as he should be known.

Was talked to dodoro for a bit

His peers (AFL MVP awards) voted him better than Weitering

Tippa ???

Convenient win, to keep pumping up Sydney, the original greenfield expansion club of the AFL, which after 34 years still needs every bit of "good news" and on field success it can get, to make any headway in an ARL dominated town. "Sydney boy changes from Rugby league to AFL and becomes a rising star." Project an image of Buddy on the Harbour Bridge Pylon......all battles in the fight to win hearts and minds against the ARL fortress north of the border. No doubt Gil is chuffed at the outcome of the Rising star.

OR… he was just the best performed player eligible. I understand cynicism given the last few years we’ve endured but relax, not everything is a conspiracy. In the opinion of most people who are across most games each weekend Mills deserved to win.

He is still is a top 3 pick for a club that finished top 4 the year before.

Yes he’s good but he has benefited from AFL interference.

Congratulations Darcy. A brilliant first year.

Yeah agree, best first year player by a bit I would think.

Concur. Tippa was not nominated for MVP, not eligible for RS. But yes. Tippa is generally regarded on subjective measures as best first year player for 2017 and on objective measures ( Player ratings 229 ) way ahead of Mills. ( 189) for the same number of matches. Darcy is very close to Mills on ratings, but not nearly as well regarded subjectively.

Which is fair enough, I know people like to say darcy is more impressive because he had great numbers and really stood up in the worst team in the comp. But in my mind, it’s more impressive that mills was able to break into and hold his spot in a side that has a great chance of winning the premiership. Don’t think this necessarily means one is better than the other, but can definitely see why there is so much more hype around Mills. Both will be guns though. And parish is our gun.

Here is the thing though. Darcy was nominated by the EFC players, not Walla. I’m as surprised as you are, but still, you’d think the players would know best. Unless a whole bunch of them got confused about whether Walla could be nominated or not.

Worth stating though, if Parish is considered internally to have had a better year than Walla, then that’s a very fine effort indeed.

Here are the results of an AFLPA poll currently on the AFLPA web site. Even if the voters were mainly Essendon supporters, they still rate Tippa highest.
There is some evidence Carlton supporters were actively voting on this as well.

Cal twomey said if Parish was in this years draft he would be number 1.

Interesting. Said McCluggage very close behind Parish.

I voted for Tippa, then changed IP address and voted for Darcy.

Hah. Not many fans have heard of AFLPA, care about the AFLPA, or visit their site, the actual number who voted is probably reasonably small.
So you probably caused a major skew in the results, and so did the 3 Calrlscum fans that voted for Weitering.

Should be the number one signing priority.

Yesssssssss screw Laverde!

Hope he enjoys his holiday with shotgun mathieson.

Speaking of Rhys, he was at the Essendon huddle yesterday at 1/4 time.

Would lol if he requests a trade to Essendon when his contract expires.

Reckon deep down he’s spewing not to be playing with he’s best mate.

ALEX MORGAN

So what is the delay in signing an extension? Wouldn’t surprise if the Pies are in his ear. Parish did follow them as a kid.

Where has it come from that he needs to sign an extension? Or is this just the new picnic thread because Hurls and Francis are under control?

Why would he sign an extension when he will most likely play even better next year and increase his value further. Would be silly for him to sign now.
