Leaves plenty of options for nicknames for his brothers when we draft them…

Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph

If there aren’t enough brothers we can combine nicknames. Prancing Vixen.

(for the record, I just changed the thread title because "Welcome to Essendon" a year later seemed a bit silly)

■■■ thank you. this is becoming a hobby horse of mine, but we still have “Welcome” thread title for Langers ffs.

The Langford hasn’t worn out his welcome yet.

DON’T BE FOOLED BY THE ROCKS THAT I GOT, I’M STILL, I’M STILL DARCY FROM THE PARISH

I imagine Blitzen will be popular around here.

This is so horribly awful that I like it.

Interested in seeing how Darcy goes in his 2nd year. Will be harder to cement a spot in the best 22 this year so a good pre-season will be pivotal. One thing I’m particularly interested to see is his kicking. By all reports pre-draft and even in all the training reports, he was a beautiful kick and decision maker. Yet during the season he was actually quite a horrible kick IMO and turned it over by foot regularly. We saw his best work on the inside winning the footy and using his sharp and creative handball skills. Now I’m sure the footskill thing is more to do with fitness and ability to execute under huge fatigue which is completely normal for an undersized 1st year player playing a full season in the midfield. And of course there is the step up in the speed and the amount of gameplan information that an AFL player now has to process almost instantly. So I will give him the benefit of doubt.

It really was an impressive effort for him to get through a whole season given the huge workload he had. Hopefully he can improve in this area because it will go a long way in cementing his spot in the best 22.
